Well I am at stage 1 of the MYA process and really pleased with everyone I have seen though quite dissapointed that I need an uplift which means I cant breastfeed if I had another child.
I feel like I need a second opinion from another surgeon... I was only expecting to have a BA .
Anyone else in this situation?
did they tell you that you cant breastfeed after an uplift? because im seeing a surgeon in a different clinic and on there website it has the question can you breastfeed after an uplift and this was the answer: Your ability to breast feed should not be affected as your milk ducts and nipples will be left intact.
i also think if you go for under the muscle with the implants this is also away from the milk ducts x
Yes thats what I thought too, I am going to ask for another consultation as this is on my mind . to be honest I didnt really like the surgeon and have not seen her work. Have you had an op or planning to ? x
im planning to, it wont be until jan 2013 tho as need to finish my car loan before i get another, after breastfeeding my two children i know almost defiantly that i will need an uplift, i have a consultation on the 19th sept with the surgeon, im seeing one from mybreast in plymouth, i have got pictures on my profile of my boobs, would be great if you could add me and take a look and see if they are similar to yours as i will have to wait and see if i need an uplift xx
I would definitely see another surgeon for a second opinion. Something this major I wouldn't just listen to first surgeons opinion. Good luck Hun xx
I was told I can't breastfeed after uplift. Think it depends whether you have full uplift or partial. Luckily I'm not having children so this won't effect me but if I did want children I dont think I'd have had it done till after.
Hiya hun I had this prob to mr chantarasak wasn't happy to do just a ba he wanted me to have uplift(which I didn't want or felt I needed) mr singh took on my case and did just a ba, I'm 5days post op and although I'm not happy about them not being as big as was told and expected and they are different sizes atm, I'm very happy with how they have turned out.but I guess time will truly tell. Defo get more opinions. Best of luck

I saw Mario Russo yesterday and I need an uplift too, my main two concerns where, 1. I havent had children yet and I want to option to be able to breastfeed and, 2. The worry of scarring. He said that breast-feeding should be fine, although probably not for a year after the procedure as the milk ducts would be compressed. He seems a fantastic surgeon, really put my mind at rest about both of my concerns. He said if I only had a ba then I would just have bigger saggy boobs, with my nipples pointing to the groud- not a gook look :s x
I was told I need a uplift and I saw a 2nd surgeon and he said I didn't need one... Always see more than one surgeon. Best to check. Xx
I was told that you can't breastfeed after an uplift as the milk ducts are cut when the nipples are being repositioned!
I think the breast feeding thing differs with everyone, depends on the incisions etc and all that to consider!
You can never have too many opinions if you ask me, see as many surgeons as you can until you feel 100% happy with any decisions made, thats what i did and I'm really glad i did xxx
Im having a donut lift which wont leave any vertical scarring and i was told i can breastfeed still x
I've had 3 consultations now with three different surgeons, all 3 said I need an uplift, 1 said he would do a ba but they would just be bigger and slightly mask the sagyness. Don't want to waste my money on a ba to be disappointed then go back to have an uplift. There's a forum titled breastfeeding and one of the girls on there had an uplift and went on to breastfeed successfully

Often, a surgeon who doesn't think you need an uplift will offer a bigger implant to fill the gap, as it were. x

I had full uplift and BA with Mr Traynor in April. I had thought that I wouldn't be able to breastfeed again but was surprised when Mr T told me that I should still be able to as he doesn't remove the nipple. The only thing he said is that I might not find it as easy as I did with my child pre-uplift. I am planning to have another child and although I would have gone through my op regardless, I was glad to hear I still have the opportunity to try to breasfeed.
