Hi everyone, I hope you don’t mind me sharing the reasons for wanting tummy tuck surgery.
I had my first baby at 21. She was a healthy 7lbs 11 which doesn't sound much but I was a size 8 at the time, so quite big for my frame. By the time I had my second child I was 30 and size 12. My figure was OK but I did have a little bit of a round tummy. My son was a whopping 10lbs 11oz and wore 6 month baby clothes in his first week. I may have had some sort of gestational diabetes??!! Anyway, my body has gone from size 16 (I put a lot of weight on while I was pregnant) to size 12, but I have a 42 inch stomach that looks like I'm constantly pregnant. My stomach muscles still have a large gap between them, which gives me an ugly ridge down the middle if I try to do sit ups. It's affecting my sex life which, despite DH being very supportive and sweet, I know it's not nice for him... NHS won't do the op unless 4 fingers can fit in-between the stomach muscles, which would mean about a 8cm gap. Mine is a more modest 4 cm gap.
I’m not worried about the actual surgery – can’t say I’m relishing the thought of someone poking around in there, but got to be better than it is now. I’m a bit worried about the cost, but we’ll manage.
If anyone else has a similar story, esp. If you’ve already had it corrected through surgery, I’d love to hear your story.
Kind regards, Figs
