The drains are fine hun honestly. Try not to worry. The only annoyance with the drains is getting out of bed and going to the loo! X

Not everyone has them, just patients who have a lot of fluid in them. I had my op Wednesday 20th and I didn’t need to have them. Don’t panic if you do, you’ll probably still be under all the painkillers it’ll just be uncomfortable X

Just adding to this i’ve always wondered – do you have the drains in just until you leave the hospital or is it longer? xx

I was worried about the drains and I can honestly say when I had my op the left hurt a little but the right I didn’t even noticed she had removed it if any pain at all its bareable just make sure u listen to them and you take deep breaths makes it Easyer for them to remove and you only have them until you leave the hospital xx

Please do not worry about drains! I was terrified because of all of the horror stories but honestly… Having them removed was nothing! I asked to have someone hold my hand while the nurse removed them and they were happy to do so! I just held the Dr’s hand and took deep breaths, next thing they were out! I didn’t even feel a thing 🙂 you will be fine! Please don’t listen to any horror stories because that’s what caused me to get so worked up… All for what? NOTHING! 🙂 you’ll be fine xxx

I thought the drains were horrific and the most painful part of the experience, just goes to show how everybody is different. I’ve never been good with pain relief though, nothing ever seems to work that well. Just think no matter how much it hurts if you find it does, it’s so worth it! Xx
