Hi girls, hope all your recoveries are going well!
I’m feeling slightly demotivated at the moment if I’m honest, feels like I’m going 1 step forward 2 steps back! It’s 6 weeks tomorrow since my op and I’m still in dressings and discovered another “trouble” area at the weekend that seems to be oozing some not-so-pretty ooze ??? I’ve put a dressing on and waiting to see the nurse tomorrow; but it itches like mad so hope it’s not an infection.
Just needed to vent a little if I’m honest, just hope it’s not too many more weeks until I can freely have a shower without worrying ? xx

Ah sorry to hear that Hun ?, hope it’s cleared up soon! Is everything still covered in dressings? Xx

Thank you hun, no not everything is covered.. My left has healed lovely and the scars are perfect by my right is just taking so much longer. The nipple is all healed but the vertical scar down from the nipple has about 3 parts that just aren’t healing (or not healing as quick anyway). I’ve brought some waterproof dressings myself that work if I’m in and out the shower in minutes so it’s just enough but I just want to feel the running water so much! Haha sounds silly I know ? xx

Oh bless ya. I know what you mean, I can’t imagine not showering, it’s a horrible feeling, although I’m going to have to get used to it ? . Has the pain stopped by now? Xx

Hey love so on sorry it’s not all healed yet – sounds really frustrating. Hope you don’t have an infection and it’s just taking it’s time. Fingers crossed your appointment goes OK, let me know xx

Didn’t go well at all ? the nurse got the surgeon in so he could see my right boob and although he said it was only small he had to cut away at the skin a little to bump start the healing! I felt the blood trickle down my stomach and it was so tender ? I’ve also now got to have a course of antibiotics just as a precaution although they don’t think it’s infected. I now feel back to square one on that side like I’m weary of using my arm too much, and it’s pretty painful tbh. Feel quite fed up! But hopefully it’ll start to heal now xx

oh you poor thing!! *hugs* Sounds horrible πŸ™ At least they did something pro-active and have you on a course in case, more reassuring that they’re doing everything at least rather than ‘wait and see’. But still, what a nightmare for you! Hope it’ll heal up soon hun. Lifts are so much more of a stress! So unfair for our saggy boobies. Still just think in a year from now this will all be a memory and you’ll love them πŸ™‚ Just have to get through the hard bits. xx

Thank you ☺️ Yeah although it was very unpleasant I’m really glad the surgeon himself came and saw me and now hopefully on the road to healing. I think a lot more has been achieved doing that than just “oh we’ll just put dressings on for another week” like I have been getting lol xx

Hey girls, the nurse phoned me today to say that the swabs came back postitive for infection ? luckily the surgeon already prescribed me antibiotics and as there was no physical signs of infection so hopefully it’ll clear up pretty quick. Just super fed up and disappointed with my recovery now ? stupid skin! Xxx

Oh no! Sorry hun πŸ™ That’s so rubbish. But at least they gave you the antibiotics before the results! Is it clearing up a bit? I know it must feel like such a set-back but it seems they’re doing everything they can so that’s a plus. And I’m assuming it’s just a superficial infection so it hasn’t gone deeper? Really hope it clears up quickly for you – I’ll be fed up if I have to have my dressings on nearly 2 months po! But on the plus side it all seems like things are being taken care of and it’s just a matter of time. Don’t push yourself too hard and rest up! x

Sorry to hear that hun.. What have they said?? Well I’m at week 7 and still have dressings for at least another 2 weeks or more so hopefully you won’t have as much as nightmare as I’m having! ? but I’ve seen them wth my own eyes now and realise their only superficial skin wounds so I feel a lot more positive and I know it won’t be forever! ☺️ Xx

One of the incisions on the right side has broken down and isnt healing. There were stitches left in on both sides and she thinks that’s why its been having trouble. I’ve got to go back Friday for another check up and she might need to swab for infection. I think ill be atleast another two weeks in dressings too even if it starts to heal now the stitch is out. Gutted! I also have a nasty rash from the dressings. Loads of little bumpy spot things everywhere. Oh that’s so long πŸ™ I feel so bad for you! I’ve only been 3 and I’m drained. Mainly due to the rash ive gotten it’s making me itchy and they’re like painful blisters. And my boobs look gross from it! I’m glad it’s only superficial wounds and I hope they start healing up better for you πŸ™‚ keep me posted! X

That sounds a lot like mine Hun so I really do know how you feel! My stitches were left in a week too long I think so may definitely have something to do with the extra healing time. And I’ve come out in a huge itchy allergic reaction to the dressings too ? she’s put a different type on now so hopefully my skin will recover a bit! Xxx

She’s changed the type of dressing for me too im hoping it calms down as Id actually rather be in pain than have this rash thing it’s driving me crazy! Sat with my Macom off for a few hours as it relieves the itching having it off. Man! The things we do to look good! Have you had to go every week from day one then? And did she say to change any dressings yourself? As My friend is a nurse
She said if I need them changing more often to help the rash and keep extra clean she can do them for me x

itching is normal near the incision it is a sign of healing i asked it at my 7 day post op today when i got my dressing changed i got itching from the day of the surgery i thought it might be infection but no just apprears that im a really fast healer so dont worry itching is healing but if you have a rash then its the irritation thats itching hope this helps xx

It’s definitely the rash πŸ™ not got any itching on the incisions sites just the areas the really sticky parts of the dressings are and have big blistery looking things. The itchy incisions stopped after about the 2 week mark for me. Literally everything was going great and she said I was healinh really well at the two week point. Week 3 it’s gone down hill. I’m hoping it’ll sort itself out soon:) hope you’re doing okay anyway! How are yours feeling? X
