Finance Fears - Guarantor

I have my consultation tomorrow, as I am in desperate to have a tummy tuck after loosing over 4 stone quite quickly, it has left me with a horribly saggy tummy. Anyway, athough I have a good income of £26k a year, a previous marriage left me in debt which is all paid off, but it has left my credit rating poor at 611 (which is poop, but not REALLY poop)

I am hoping I can get finance though MYA by myself for the procedure, as I will have to swallow some pride and ask my mother to Guarantor for me *gulp*

Has anyone else used a Guarantor and what is the process for this?

They have to show the same supporting docs as you bank statements, ID etc and they also sign the forms as "debtor 2".

My partner has a clear credit history, owns his house and earns a pretty good wack! but FML wouldn't give me the credit, they sorted vii Mya but it was less £900 than I needed, Apr is also quite high, 21 - 24% on average, unless you get the 0% over a year.

That is quite high, but I guess not as high as some lenders :/ hmmm not hopeful really that I can do this alone with FML. My mum knows how much this means to me so maybe she will understand. I am such a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment lol

I applied for finance with them and didn't go with it in the end, felt as though I was jumping through hoops with them. If it helps, they never did a credit score on me, they asked me questions and said I passed it but it never showed up on my report. I am sure like niki says if you have all the paperwork they will be fine. My partner couldn't guarantor me as he changed jobs the previous month. They wouldn't clear me alone and my score is around 850 and make over £30k but then I've heard of girls with part time jobs being accepted alone. I think they have very varied ways of making decisions so just go for it and see what happens x

That seems very silly, not getting accepted with that score and income. The criteria looks a bit odd to me. Oh well I guess all I can do is suck it and see, if I don't get accepted I will have to get saving :/ lol

They tell you when you apply if you need a guarantor or not so you may be ok. Maybe they recognised my shoe addiction from my bank statements and thought I couldn't commit to boobs too! If you can get a guarantor you will be absolutely fine. It takes about 5 mins to apply over the phone and then you send the paperwork and then bosh, all done (unless you have my boyfriend to throw a spanner in the works) x
