i am really working myself up over the pain and sickness some girls have experienced. i don’t have a history of any post op sickness or even a great deal of pain as my pain threshold is quite high, did any girls experience a lot of sickness after the op or pain? xx

you should really just relax and try to enjoy the experience, if your worked up you may make yourself feel worse! The pain is obviously different for everyone.. its like getting a tattoo, it might not hurt one person but totally kill another. I think its just something that you will have to take as it comes rather than worrying about it before its happened x

Aww Helen don’t let that worry you, just try and focus on why you’re doing it! Being sick as well as being in pain was my main fear but I had no vomit and, like you, consider myself to have a high pain threshold and have found it to be nowhere near as bad as I thought! Sometimes when you expect the worst anything less is a bonus haha! I’m now POD4 and haven’t taken any pain meds since yesterday morn and I’m doing just fine πŸ™‚ obviously everyone’s experience is different but do not worry! You get better each day and will be back to normal within a couple of days! Good luck and get excited! Xxxxxx

What’s the point of worrying unnecessary , it’s just going to make you feel ill . If you’ve read the other ladies posts on this forum you will see that it’s not as frightening as you may think. Try to think positively and just think about the end result … Getting new boobs!!!

hiya!! I was the exact same, every time before my BA when i was put under i would wake up feeling sick and i would for hours afterwards. I had 300cc overs and i told my aneasatists about this and he told me not to worry. Obviously i still did but when i woke up i felt amazing! i was able to eat straight away and down my cuppa tea! ahaha dont worry about it! xxxx

Hiya hun, I had unders yesterday…. Not going to lie I am in a lot of discomfort and sore atm, but it’s not a pain as such it’s more just a achiness!!! Just keep on top of your med’s. Plenty of ice packs & rest up & they say the worst of it should be over within 4 days!!! I was worried that I was gonna feel sick after the GA but never had any, I scoffed toast choccie crisps & 2 pots of coffee straight after haha, I was farrrr too hungry to have time to feel sick ? . Differs from person to person but even if you feel sick still eat as it will soak up the GA and you’ll feel much more human! I felt pissed when I woke up! Xx

Lol same, if I get told I can’t eat or drink it makes me angry ?? . I went for a massive McDonald’s after too ??! You’ll be absolutely fine hun, I was petrified of the op and not waking up from the GA lol but it’s over in what seems like a second! All the nurses & anasesthist distract you when there putting in the cannula and next minute your arms goes cold & you wake up with boobs haha! 3 weeks will fly by! Which surgeon are you going with? Xx

thanks so much ladies! i am feeling loads better about it all now πŸ™‚ can’t wait for my admission time now!! i am with dr fiumara, i am not sure if she uses drains she hasn’t mentioned them and hopefully i won’t wake up with them in. i have had a tube down my throat before though (endoscopy) and that was awful but i can manage the soreness so hopefully a drain won’t be too bad! xxx

My surgron doesn’t use drains so not sure y surgeons can have a choice of not using them, are they needed or is it extra precaution ? and how do theythey wake up after the op? Feeling nervous xx

Also I’m not sure about the drains sorry! Ask when you get to the hospital but they are nothing to worry about it’s a very thin tube in a different incision to the one your implants where put in… I am feel 10 X better today (pod3) I haven’t been sick since having the op although i do feel it sometimes after the pain meds/anti biotic.. I have now (this morning) started just taking normal paracetamol – Ice packs have been my saviour xx

@helen hey Hun I’m the same got a massive phobia of being sick too it’s awful isn’t it. Make your you tell the anesthist that your are worried about being sick and then he can give you anti sickness medication with your GA it really works I’ve had it after I have birth I felt so so sick and they gave me an injection and within 10 mins I was fine ? Hi πŸ™‚ after my op I felt really sick but the nurse gave me anti sickness and it didn’t work 10 mins later she tried a different one and the sickness went all together! So it probably lasted an hour at the most. And the pain was fine for me I was up and got dressed by myself and I’m a Mard arse! I couldn’t wash my own hair and stuff but I could cook and get dressed and do my makeup πŸ™‚ xxx

I had barely any pain, just discomfort and sickness from the antibiotics. The sickness wasn’t pleasant but you soon forget it once it’s over. It’s only a week or 2 in the grand scheme of things. Try to sleep as much as possible. Makes the time go faster.

You can request anti sickness before you wake up so when you wake up you’ll have no sickness because it will have already worked, last time I had it afterwards and it took about 45 mins to an hour to work I had a few doses I kept calling the nurse cos I was stressing out ? I would ask for I while you’re still asleep if you suffer with sickness it’s the morphine that makes me sick!xxx

What are you having done? Also last time I requested to be gassed out before I had the injection and it was a terrible mistake! I couldn’t wake up for ages properly and this time they refused to do it so I had the needle first even though I have a massive phobia ? Soon as I woke up I was wide awake within 5 mins πŸ™‚ xxx

Any more thoughts on this subject? I have emetophobia ? It’s an awful phobia and it’s caused me to cancel dental surgery post baby, as I was so scared! I’m going to go to my gp and get some more anti sickness tablets just incase and luckily my surgeon doesn’t give antibiotics unless you develop infection etc (he gives a mega dose during the procedure) I know I can’t have cocodamol as I go into lala land ?Even after having my 4th baby by csection I refused any meds other than Ibrufen and paracetamol! Any one else got by just on these? Anyone else taken anti sickness just in case? X

@madmamato5 hi Hun everyone is on antibiotics for a week after their opp I know some people don’t take anything but paracetamol I think it all depends on what you are having I had unders and had to take co codamol for 4days after cuz nothing else seemed to help your surgeon should give you anti sickness tablets while you are in theatre xx
