Omg my brains overloaded lol I was fine a few weeks back now I’m panicking at literally everything! Can’t wait for it to all be over now. Just wondering is the canulla really painful? Dreading that part! I know the pain after I wake up il deal with okay. Do they have any numbing creams or anything?x

Is that the part that goes in your hand to put you to sleep? Because if it is i’m absolutely dreading that going in me, i’m not bothered about once I am asleep its just the actual needle going into my hand! x

    Thanks girls.

Yeah it’s that part.. I’ve made myself worse by watching YouTube videos of it as well lol. I’m sure it won’t be as bad as I imagine but yeah for now that’s my dred xx

Really don’t worry about it, I put cannulas in everyday at work. All you will feel is a small prick/scratch then all that is left in is a tiny flexible plastic tube (the needle is removed) They will cover it with a dressing and you shouldn’t feel anything at all once its in. Also remember the nurses that put these do it everyday so you are in great hands and should be fine. If you keep your hands warm & wrapped up it will bring the veins to the surface and make it even easier for them to pop it in too. Maybe wear some gloves before you go down to theatre? Anyway when you wake up it will be the last thing you think about as all you will think is ….BOOBIES! Good luck x

That’s the only bit I was worried about – I even asked for gas first. They declined as its much more dangerous that way apparently but the nurse just talked to me through it all and it was fine (I usually pass out at needles)

Oh and ask for a blue one if need be – it’s the smallest size 🙂

Hiya. I only had a small vein, so when they put it in they then put some numbing stuff through it because my vein was so small. So really didn’t feel anything apart from the small scratch. Try not to worry and don’t watch then do it. Lol Xxx

You will be fine Ellie! I think a blood test hurts more than a cannula and soon after that you’ll be asleep anyway, good luck with your op Hun you will be fine xxx
