So I got to the clinic at Doncaster at 11:30. Had to wait 10mins for them to sort my room out then I went up. The nurse came in and told me what was going to happen next and took my blood pressure etc. My hands were really cold so I had to try warm them up before I could get my gown on. As my heart rate was quite low.
The aneathasist came in and explained what was going to happen reguarding the anasthetic. He was so lovely and made me feel at ease.
Then Mr Kazzazi came in a few minutes later and did my drawings. I had 350cc round hp implants.
The nurse also checked my heart rate again and it had come back up.
A few minutes later she said she was ready for me. This was about 12:25 ish.
As I got into theatre, I got onto the bed and we all had a chit chat. One of the nurses strapped my right arm down whilst the aneathasist did my canula. The nurse said when the canula is sorted she will strap my other arm. Before I knew it they had woke me up and told me they had finished. I climbed off the bed into a wheelchair and went back into my room. It only took an hour. After that I literally kept falling to sleep for the next 3 hours or so. I couldn’t stay awake. I managed to have a few bites of toast and drink my tea but I was far too tired and didn’t feel well. Eventually I stood up and went to the toilet. I felt really dizzy. And my blood pressure had dropped. The nurse told me to drink more water and have a walk around. When she checked it abpit 15/20mins later it had gone back up thank god! Because I could then be discharged. I left the clinic around 6:20.
I kept falling to sleep in my friends car. Id be alert one minute then really sleepy the next. We stopped off at Mc donalds as I was so hungry but I didn’t have much of an appetite. I managed a few bites of a burger and a couple of chips though. Finally made it home about 7:30. Felt alot better at home. Alot more alert but my boobs felt more uncomfortable and tighter than they originally did. But im guessing that’s because the anasthetic was wearing off. In bed now trying to do the impossible.. trying to sleep at a 45 degree angle lol!
Thought I’d share my story with you are as it really helped me alot before my surgery and you realise that everyone takes things differently. Hoping tomorrow isn’t too bad pain wise.
