Hurt front teeth from surgery?! Started by: JerryCharlotte

    Hey ladies,

Weird question I know but I’m a bit worried!

My anaesthetist mentioned a risk of breaking or damaging my front teeth during surgery (didn’t state why) and just said but that’s not ever going to happen we just need to inform you though.

I didn’t think anymore of it and I’ve gradually been easing off the pain killers since Tuesday, as a result I woke up this afternoon with my two front teeth SO sore and I sucked a bit of blood from the gums?! If I tap my bottom teeth against the top it’s so sensitive.

Do they put anything down your mouth during surgery? What could this be from?

I also realise I was repeatedly sick on the day til late that night with no toothbrush, this can’t have helped my enamel at all 🙁

Any advice appreciated girlies. Thanks x

They have to put a breathing tube down when your under anaesthetic and it’s really quite large x

Wow I really did think this was just me! A tooth of mine on the top has been so sensitive and when I bite it feels like it’s going to snap or fall out. I’ve been chewing on my left side because it really hurt.
I even nearly booked a dentist appointment because it was so abnormal how I’d not done anything to it and all of a sudden it hurt randomly.
It’s starting to wear off now though. I’m really glad I’m not the only one, phew! 😃 xxx

Awh Paige I was thinking exactly the same thing (maybe it’s just me?!) I’m the same it kills to bite down on it!

Thanks misslarner – Maybe we bit down on the breathing tube during surgery or something?! It’s very sore though and I never have teeth trouble 🙁

Glad yours is wearing off now, hope mine does. I was tempted to book dentist yesterday but felt silly!

I think it started wearing off about POD 10/11 for me @jerrycharlotte 😃 Don’t know how far on you are… I’m sure it will wear off though! I never have trouble with my teeth either so don’t worry as of yet 😃 Xxx

I think i noticed something similar but for me i think it was being tense or from the painkillers but i was clenching my jaw and pushing my teeth with my tongue even when sleeping it has got better x
