Well done girls! I had normal lipo and although swelling has reduced (nearly 6 weeks PO) I still have some swelling. I’m hoping to really see a huge difference in the coming months x

    Hi everyone,
I thought I’d tell you my story, I haven’t been on here before except to read the threads.
I decided upon the procedure in sept/oct I wanted thighs inner and outter, flanks and lower abdomen.
I am tall 5ft10″ and slim anyway but these areas just wouldn’t move, I was actually starting to find it difficult to buy jeans and trousers due to my smaller waist (8) but larger thighs (10). I’m just bottom heavy my top is 6-8, small boobs, arms etc. An 8 was too tight and 10 slipped down my waist.
I had my op today 22/12. At the Doncaster clinic, I was seen for all my appointments in nottingham.
I was the first patient of the day, great news as no hanging around.
The surgeon drew on me the bits in wanted doing, the anaesthetist was lovely and kind and explained everything, as were the nurses.
I went in at 8:45-9am ish and “woke” up when then finished about 11:30am.
Ok so I cannot lie I did feel a bit of pain in theatre especially round my buttocks. Tummy was fine can’t remember any of that, as were flanks. Thighs were more painful. It twinged quite a lot, I was a bit fidgety they said when they did my thighs. I was asleep but not if that makes sense and it was sore in places.
I had about 2L removed in total and the surgeon said he was surprised they got that much off me as I’m not very big anyway.
I went into the recovery room, and they put on all my garments. I slept for half an hour or so and then was eager to get up, but I felt quite sick just very briefly and they gave me an anti-emetic and tea/toast. Maybe it was because I was hungry but felt fine within a few minutes. Left the clinic at 1pm.
I was tired, maybe the early start, late night beforehand or the sedative so I slept from about 3-6pm at home, the clinic gave me a big plastic sheet, some absorbent mats and I put towels down too, there was a bit of leakage when I woke up, I did feel wet. But now it’s 1am and nothing coming out, and bed mats are dry.
I have quite a high pain threshold so deal with most things, I was feeling a bit sore but nothing to complain about. I did take paracetamol and ibuprofen around 8pm and by 10pm I was ready to go out and do something so I just wrapped a few Xmas presents and walked up and down stairs a few times.
Ok so the garment. Yeh not great but not awful, I have a foam vest on under my garment which I have to wear until I go back to the clinic on 24/12. The garment is not awful at all, the vest isn’t great but it’s only two days. It’s the movement that’s more awkward than any pain or anything. Like a bullet proof vest.
About 10pm I did notice my public region was very swollen (very!) and had some bruising developing. As yet it doesn’t hurt but it’s pretty disgusting!
I rolled my ted stockings down just to itch my legs and noticed no ankle, knee swelling at all.
Sleeping with the vest on – not great, it’s a lying on your back jobby. No way you can lie on your side with the vest on.
My back aches a bit but I have back ache frequently anyway, probably the vest is holding me in a position I never walk in.
I don’t feel unwell or anything at all.
I have paracetamol, ibuprofen and Abx.
At the minute the only moan is the public swelling, no leakage or pain. No noticeable swelling elsewhere.
I will let you know how I get on. I’m an extremely active person so doing nothing drives me mad! Hoping to be well enough to just go for a walk tomorrow.
I hadn’t been thinking about it for months/years. I just got fed up of not being able to
Wear tight dresses, skirts, skinny jeans. I was always comparing my shape to other people, I know that’s wrong but I realised it may help if I did something about it but diet and exercise were just making me lose weight off my already small boobs and arms and not off my hips and legs. I read reviews and just went for it.
