Hi everyone, I’m 5 days post op and every day my bum feels more numb/sore. I literally don’t know how I’m going to sleep upright for much longer. I’ve got 2 big puffy pillows behind me angled like a chair and a V pillow on top of them but I can’t seem to get comfortable and wake up in pain. Does anyone have any tips of how they slept or got rid of it? Maybe one of the heated muscle patch things you can get?

Im 8DPO today, i got so fed up of being uncomfortable that i took a spare duvet from another room in the house, used that to help sleep upright as well as 2 V cusions and 3 pillows! If my back aches i also get a hot water bottle too..anything really juat to help me sleep, as for your bum i dont have advice haha i tend to move my legs alot in bed anyway so the moving of positions helps stop my bum from getting numb 🙂

I’m not really in boob pain it’s bum pain! Haha. I might try a hot water bottle, I’m back at work (office job) so am sat down but at a different angle for most of the day and spend the rest of my time stood up. I’ll maybe try a few more pillows under the bum area, it’s big enough it should have enough cushion for itself haha.

@cigal123 I havnt had my op yet but I have suffered with back problems and pain for years so I can imagine your struggle (im really not looking forward to sleeping post op) I am planning on using the v shape pillows as you mention and then once you have got comfy put pillows under your legs so under your thighs I find it takes some of the pressure of the base of your spine and bum. hope it helps worth a try 🙂 xx

Oh I’ve not tried pillows under my legs – I’ll give it a go thank you :-).

it might help to prop a pillow under one side of your bum and alternate that. I think the discomfort you have is a pressure area and not transferring the weight can cause pressure sores. Maybe Google methods to alleviate pressure sores ok for other ideas.

Yeah true. It says online to put a pillow under tailbone, heels and then the V pillow basically. I’ll give it all a go as it’s awful! Thanks!

Sit on a pillow maybe that will help take the pressure off x

I’ve been sleeping with pillow under my knees stops you sliding down bed. Spending the day out of bed as body is aching from having to lay in one position.
