Hi girls, literally been stalking this forum as my op is in two weeks and I still can’t make my mind up!! I’m thinking about having partials instead of unders, is this possible from an A cup? Does it make the risk of rippling a lot higher? I’m also quite slim, I was always set on unders but I’ve seen more and more overs/partials I like the look of.. I don’t want them to look like two stuck on balls but I want them to be full and natural at the same time. I’ve been offered 375/400 cc
Any help/advice from girls who have had the same xxxxx
Did your surgeon offer you a choice?
Usually it’s either a case of you’ve got the tissue to cover the implant and you get overs, you’ve got a moderate amount of skin you get partials and if it’s minimal and you’re very flat and have a slim frame they tend to do total unders.
My consultant made this very clear at my first consultation.
Hi lovely I am a UK6/8, 8 stone, 5ft 4.
Pre op I was a small 32B but I think more of a 32A as I used to wear really really padded bras so always wore 32B’s
I had 375cc left and 350cc right, high profile partials. I wanted the natural yet full look too so I think partials was a good idea.
I guess your surgeon suggested what was best for you though but if you are feeling unsure you could always speak to him again?

I had partials from an a cup with dr Mounir. He said I could have overs but I was set on unders so we agreed partial. I’m only 3wpo, but they’re feeling great 🙂 finally starting to soften up now x
I asked Mr Traynor about partials and he told me theres no such thing as partials which has confused me totally. He said when you have sub muscular placement the implant is only covered partially at the top of the implant and the rest of the implant at the bottom isn’t covered by muscle. Do you think this just means his version of unders (sub muscular) is actually partial placement?? Because he said if he gave me unders it doesn’t get fully covered by muscle…. which sounds like dual plan lol x
@jessy6067 Hi lovely, that does sound odd that he said there’s no such thing as partials because there is (even MYA show this on their info sheets) It is true that even unders are not fully covered by the muscle but they are more so than partials, perhaps that’s what he meant?
They are known as subglandular (overs), subfascial (partials which I had) and submuscular (unders but as I said even unders aren’t 100% covered by muscle)
Sub fascial/ Partials- the upper 2/3 of the breast implant is covered by your pectoral muscle. The the bottom of the breast implant is supported by your breast tissue
Submuscular/Unders- Complete submuscular placement does not literally mean “completely under the muscle.” While the vast majority of the breast implant is covered by muscle, there is a small portion of the implant that isn’t covered by the muscle. The pectoral muscles (also called “pecs”) are fan-shaped. As with partial unders, the pecs cover about 2/3 of the upper portion of the breast implant. However, with complete unders, the breast implant is also behind the serratus anterior muscles
Subglandular/Overs are placed over the muscle
Here’s a quick link to explain fully http://www.simplybreastimplants.com/breast_implant_placement/index.html
I have also attached the photo of the placements explained on the MYA information leaflet you should have been given in your MYA pack at your first consultation

I think what he meant was HIS under the muscle placement is actually partials. Cause the way he explained it to me (sounded like partials) that only the upper part will be covered by muscle and the bottom of the implant won’t be. I’ve searched on this forum ‘partials mr traynor’ and a few girls have been told the same thing by him that apparently in the UK most under the muscle placement is actually partials and its rare for surgeons to do totally under the muscle in the UK and usually reserved for reconstructive and gender reassignment surgery.
Basically when Mr Traynor says unders he means partials x
I think dr Minour is the same I’m sure we agreed unders but when I rang my PC she said he had written partials so I’m guessing partials are his version of unders also. I couldn’t get into see him again before my op otherwise I would of had to travel to Manchester, I asked my PC if placement is something I could ask him on the day and she basically said if I ask him on the day then he won’t do the surgery?? Lol this worried me so I have no idea what to do, I do really like the look of overs but worried about them being massive and rippling as I’m only small.
Have you decided yet @jessy6067 ? X
How are you getting on now @eeviefox how are they for size xx
Hi girls, I had unders with mr Traynor & only half of the implant is under the muscle even though he says unders, they are not completely under. I had 300cc hp. I was originally a non existent A cup. I’ve been measured today (9wks later) & im a 30DD /E!!! A smaller implant really goes a long way xxx
I haven’t decided yet doing my head in lol! Probably just tell him to do what is best Dont even know if its going ahead anymore. I never signed the paper he wrote on, when I went for my second consultation because I was next asked to and now the only day I can go is Saturday morning to sign it cause I’m at work all day tomorrow and they said it might be too late. They going to speak to head office tomorrow and get back to me. Im so annoyed by it and dont know why they’ve left it this late. Along as i sign it i dont see the problem xx
