After the procedure I was let home relatively quickly – feeling very bruised but at least the bleeding in 2 of my cuts has stopped (had to strap a tight bandage round it!!)

What is with the “bullet proof” vest? It’s the most uncomfortable thing ever!

If it was just the compression garment I think I’d be ok (obviously still in a bit of discomfort) but this vest is making it 10 x worse!! I could live with wearing the CG for 6 to 8 weeks but can’t see myself lasting with the vest as well!!

God knows how I’m supposed to go back to work wearing this thing? Anyone else had similar experience?

yes I have the vest but be reassured they will trim it down and it does get a little better. I have been told I have to wear it for 4 weeks then just the compression macom after that on its own. I am half way on Friday 2 weeks left of the horrible foam vest !

I’m post op day one. Jesus christ, please tell me it gets better. I drove back home today after a 16 hour sleep in my hotel (waking up at any movement and swelling). This morning I felt like I was hungover plus sickly. I should have stayed one more night as the London traffic was a nightmare, but I went to my first MLD massage. It hurts a lot! I hadn’t taken any pain meds and it was very tender.

At this moment in time all I keep saying is, what on earth have I done this for?? I just want to sleep for the next 4 weeks. I completely agree about the foam, it’s like a bullet proof vest.

P.S. Little Ben is very purple! lol

Hi I’m just really starting to see the swelling ease off and last night was first night of no mess although did wake up in pain. I h ad my op 17th April and the first week I just slept and slept.

Same here Louise – I slept most of week 1!!! Ben I don’t know how you drove???? But i was the same 2 days later – why oh why have i done this to myself?! The MLD shouldn’t hurt, what were they doing to you Ben?

I considered getting my abs defined at the same time but I am glad i didn’t – at least not at the same time – I could barely deal with the legs and hips i can’t imagine having the restriction of the vest thing and pain there too. You are obviously doing really well Louise. Happy healing!
