Question about waiting times on op day

Hi Girls,

I have my op on Friday and my admission time is 9am.

I’m just wondering how long you had to wait until you went down for surgery. I know it must vary but I’m hoping for a rough idea?

Its says it could be up to six hours in the email! I am terrible at waiting!!

My admission time was 1pm, I think I went down around 3:30pm ish and was back by 5pm and then let out at 8pm! (At the Preston First Trust) xx

My time was 7.30 and I had the surgery two hours later x but I was there til 8pm so it was a long day anyway ?x good luck for Friday! X

My admission at Fitzroy was 7.30am, surgery at 11.30am discharged at 5.30ish. The room was lovely, had my own room with tv! My boyfriend could wait in the room and wasn’t bad at all, I even had a little nap! ?

My admission time was 9:30 and was in surgery at 10:30 x

My admission time was 1pm went down at 6.20! Long long day but first trust hospital was lovely x

My admission time was 7.30am, I was taken down for surgery at roughly 10.45am and left the hospital for the hotel at 6pm. The waiting time in between does go quite fast to be honest, as you have nurses checking your medical and asking questions, changing into your surgery gear, visits from the anaesthetist and your surgeon. So it’s pretty busy! xx

My admission time was 1pm and I didn’t leave until 9.40pm xx

Thanks everyone for your answers! Only just had time to look I’ve been at work all day and preparing for tomorrow. It’s nice just to have a general idea of what to expect so thanks for the feedback. At least I can now mentally prepare myself for a long day!

My admission was 8am and I was in theatre at 9 and back in my room for half 11. The hours wait was the quickest ever so I’m
Sure however long you have to wait that it will fly by! Good luck!! X
