Just wondered if anyone else found once they were past the 6 week mark they had to keep putting the macom garment on at night? I’m finding that whilst I’ve been relatively lucky with minimal swelling from day 1, now that I’m garment free I seem t swell a little around my flanks/tummy area late afternoon/early eve. It isn’t painful, just feels weird and uncomfortable. I’ve been putting my macom on at bed now to see if helps.

Just worried if this is normal?! And if so when I can expect for it to stop? Should I just keep wearing the garment all day & night for longer? My nurse wasn’t v helpful when I asked her post 6week check up, just said you can go without it now, or wear it if you prefer it on (I don’t prefer it on, it’s a pain in the ass with clothes as gives me an awful VPN and isn’t very comfy all day long lol… But will wear it if it’ll help! Also, I reallllly want to start excercising, my one firm pride and joy bum is now noticeably squishy lol!!!
But aware this is likely to cause more swelling??! :-/
Also, I’ve noticed each place I have an incision I have a hard line under skin as it there’s scar tissue forming where the rod went in for the vaser… Is this normal?! My MLD therapist told me I could stop a few weeks ago, but have booked in with a different therapist near work this week to get it massaged again and see what she thinks!

Hopefully someone out there will answer – I noticed the lipo pages are much quieter than the BAs!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi @emmad84, Iโ€™m near 10 months post op now Iโ€™ll try help out with any questions.
I used to get the swelling problem if I had been sat down a lot during the day. I found wearing Spanks helped with this. itโ€™s nothing to worry about and will go over time. I feel completely fine now without Spanks.

When I went back to exercise I continued to wear the Macom garment for a few weeks, this helped stop swelling and made me feel more comfortable.

I didnโ€™t ever have MLD but I found massaging my own areas I managed to reduce the lumps and now they have gone.

I think you just need to give everything time. Make sure your drinks plenty of water and maybe try on some different spanks to cover the areas you have had vasered but are less visible than the macom garment.
    Hope this helps x

Emma I think I’m the same as you!

I’m six weeks PO this Friday and I’ve gone back to exercising and I seem to be swelling up more. I have been exercising without the garment on but I might try with it on next time.

I can see me sleeping in the garment for a while as well. I have my nurse app on Monday so I’ll let you know what she recommends.

    Hi Emma,

I had my 6 weeks PO appointment today in Manchester and the nurse was a quite nice and tried to be helpful. I’ll tell you what she told me for the same problem, which isn’t much!! She said to me that some swelling at night is sort of normal and can happen with people in general and is not necessarily due to the vaser. She said drinking lots of water could be causing it(which I don’t buy because I think water will help). She said when I start exercising now that I should wear the macon to exercise as this might cause the swelling. Basically keep an eye on when it swells and make a note and see if it’s anything causing it, such as doing something physical. If it swells a lot and without any reason, get in touch. She said by the time I go back in 6 weeks for the final appointment the swelling should not be happening. I have a few lumps and she said to get some more massage or trying do it myself. Have one by an incision and she’s told me that I should tell the surgeon if it’s still there in 6 weeks. So it all seems to be a waiting game. I’m slightly disappointed with my results because I don’t think he’s taken all the fat that he should have. I can still pinch around my tummy button and he only took about 3/4 later out. So if it still looks like this and swelling in 6 weeks, I’ll be letting them know!

Excuse the spell check mistakes in there but I’m sure you can get what it’s supposed to say!

Ps are your lumps where incisions are? I’ve noticed mine all go in a line from each incision both on arms and on tummy! I also have two harder
    Areas
    Where the
Garments been digging in on my sides.

I have a lump next to two of the incisions but not they others. The main area of my lumpish actually up from the tummy button to the sternum so I don’t know what has caused that. These ones seem to soften and lessen and then come back again. The two near my incisions don’t seem to alter at all even with massaging so I’m just hoping that they will go with time. I started doing yoga again the last two days and can’t believe how 6 weeks of doing nothing makes you struggle so much with what used to be simple haha. Going to try the gym again next week and see how this affects the swelling. I have some pics that I’ve taken on my phone but I’ve not uploaded them. To be fair, there is some difference and I can actually tell after doing yoga- I don’t have my flabby belly falling in my face- but it feels a little disappointing. I wanted a flat belly which seems to have been eluded but i think it’s possibly by body structure and he did not even take a litre out. Will put photos up at some point ๐Ÿ™‚ Bizarrely the photos I took in week 2 seem to be better than the more recent ones- might be because everything was so squashed with everything on! xx
