    Hi guys and girls,

Day 1- Today i had my open rhinoplasty with alar base reduction, my surgeon was Dr Andrea, i thought i would maybe make a log documenting my recovery just incase people on here had any questions on what to expect. So far my eyes are starting to go a little black but the pain is nowhere near what i thought it would be, the worst part is just the blocked up feeling and my lips are starting to dry out quite a bit.

If anyone has any questions please let me know and i’ll do my best to answer them.

Day 2- I slept a lot better than I expected, I had to prop myself up using a few pillows, I also read it was good idea to use a travel neck pillow to stop from rolling onto my side which seemed to work.

Still no pain, just a little discomfort from the blocked nose.

    Hi Holly,

I may be posting some pics but currently I’ve still got my splint and packing on so it’s hard to tell the results, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing my new nose. I’ve read nothing but good things about Dr Andrea so i went into the surgery very confident he could give me what I wanted. X

Day 3 – I had my packing removed today, although I have heard this is meant to be quite bad I didn’t feel any pain at all, the blocked up feeling has now reduced and I can breath slightly through my nose.
My next update will be in a weeks time when I have my splint removed.

4 weeks- so i forgot to update after i had my cast off, and being busy with the Christmas holidays i figured i’d give another update. the cast removal was painless and although my nose was very swollen i could see a huge difference, the side profile is definitely a lot straighter, although the tip of my nose is still the most swollen.

It’s odd that although you will look completely different to yourself anyone else who sees you can’t really pick up on the fact you’ve had surgery, the most noticeable thing my friends who i hadn’t told about it picked up was the bruising under my eyes. I’m certainly looking forward to the next few months when the swelling really starts to drop and the final result becomes more apparent, i just need to be patient now.

Currently I’m so happy i had the surgery as it gets rid off the ‘what if ‘ feeling where you constantly question whether you should have the procedure or not.

Hey I’m the same almost 4 weeks post op! Like you my tip is still really swollen but I can see changes since the cast came off! People I hadn’t told have not noticed either I find it hilarious as like you say to you it is a big change!!

    Hi Hayley,

Can you breath through your nose yet, i started to about a week ago and it is such a relief.

    Hi Dee,

I don’t have an instagram account, I was never really a fan of taking photos, partly why I had the surgery 🙂 I may get one soon though.

Hey, yeah I can! Some days still feels a bit blocked one sides worse then the other! I’m still using a saline spray just to keep it clear.
