    Hey ladies
I’m now two weeks post op I’ve been having shallow baths and getting my sister to wash hair over the bath but it’s greasy again the next day as it’s hard for her to get all the soap out properly. Nurse said I can shower as long as it isn’t directly on me but I have such a powerful shower and bigger than average so I don’t know whether to get in or not as my hair really needs a good scrub where I can get the soap out. Any advice, has or is anyone in the similar position x

I am 1 week post op today, had my bandages off and strapping off and my nurse said that I can shower but don’t get the jets directly on the scars and hairdry them after. Seems fine so far…

Have you thought about getting it washed at a hairdressers? That way you’ll be leaning back rather than forwards over the bathtub. See if you can find a hair academy or something that will do it for a couple quid until you’re ableo do it yourself 🙂

I went in the shower at 19DPO hun and I was so nervous the whole time I could barely wash my hair. Then I inevitability got water on my incisions and now I am having a lot of problems with one as the scab has come off.

I’m not saying this will happen to you but just be extra careful and take all the time you need. Xo

I’ve had baths since week 2 and fully submerged, but only because I’m happy the incisions have healed well. Keep a check and if they don’t look right, go back to keeping them dry for a bit longer. I’m now 4 weeks long and all fine. Scabs have just dropped off and the incisions are very neat and tidy.
    Happy healing. Xx

I’ve ordered some waterproof dressings to go over incisions for showers when the time comes x

The same happened to me Cilla. If you are having problems with your incisions though don’t hesitate to let the nurse know.
I went back to my local clinic and I had to have swabs, photos and a talk with the surgeon because mine was bleeding after I had showered.
I am now back on antibiotics and I am 24DPO.
Just take it so easy and maybe stick to baths for now until your incisions become stronger.
