Hi all had my op on 14th just can’t stop feeling sick today not taken any painkillers since this morning and decided not to as not really got any pain. I’m thinking it’s the painkillers making me feel sick but I have not had any since 8am . Has anyone else had this sick feeling ? It’s awful !

Which painkillers are you taking? I know some people can’t take codine because it doesn’t agree with them so they just stick to paracetamol and ibuprofen… I’ve never taken codine before and the nurse told me after my surgery if I feel sick or dizy stop taking it and just use standard pain killers. x

Thank you . The medicine does have codeine in. I look six months pregnant too ? Hopefully the sickness will go soon.x

I know the feeling! I looked pregnant too so I stopped taking codeine and just take paracetamol and ibuprofen whenever I feel pain. What medication were you given then? I’d never taken codeine before so the nurse told me she won’t give me anything with codeine in incase I didn’t take to it, I was just given that separately. So maybe that’s what’s making you feel sick?x

I’m only taking my antibiotics now I’m 6 days post op and also feel very bloated and sick. I think part of my sick feeling is hunger and tiredness I can’t sleep properly 🙁 hope this helps to know your not alone z

It was the co dydramol medicine I was taking brough some anti sickness tablets from the pharmacy and they stopped the sickness. I’ve stopped taking the co dydramol and have taken some ibrupfen this morning. Just as I’m a bit uncomfortable . Wonder when the pain goes completely . Hate sitting around doing nothing. I’m on day 5! Shouldn’t complain as I actually don’t feel that bad .

I was concerned about this. Ibuprofen is a blood thinner but a great muscle pain reliever. Many sites say don’t take it for two weeks prior to surgery.
But I can’t imagine paracetamol beating the pain post surgery. Anyone else with ideas?
