Hello all gorgeous ladies out there!
Advise is neeeeeded- can anyone recommend something to prevent those pedestrian zebra crossings from my soon-to-be-installed assets?

I was told at the pre op that I should start putting Bio Oil or Coconut Oil/Shea Butter 6 weeks post op, and am thinking to myself- well that ain’t preventing anything 😀 Am I able to massage the breasts (well, I have an excited volunteer here, more like it) straight away just avoiding incisions (of course apart of if I’ll need strapping), or do I really need to wait till it’s too late?

This is part of my fear in getting a BA, that and the incision scar as I scar very easily. It Will be interested to see what people can suggest on this xx

I have done throughout research about incision scars, and found out that there is no proven non surgical method for it. Most promising seem to be silicon strips, however nobody knows how exactly it works. It is believed to just slow down production of collagen, so that the scar doesn’t form too thick (which is body’s natural reaction to protect you), but there is no scientific proof. So I’m not splashing out on placebo (off course many swears by scar gels and strips, however how can you tell scar healed fast not because it was just a good incision?). Scientifically those who done any remedies on half a scar and left half to heal naturally got same results on both ends of the scar.

So now all we need is some experienced sisters to inform us about pedestrian crossings 😀
(Appreciate info from those lovely ladies, who are prone to stretch marks! As we all know some of us are just more genetically lucky)

I was thinking the same about stretch marks! My mum thinks I should start putting bio oil on before the op as well as after – dont know if it will help anything?? x

    Bio Oil debunked:
    http://www.yummymummyclub.ca/blogs/dan-thompson-beauty-busted/20120831/bio-oil-busted
    Also more:
“However, research in the last few decades has suggested that a big part of our behavior is based on habits. A habit emerges when we have a cue, perform a routine, and receive a reward.
Because Bio Oil smells nice, it can promote more regular skin care because the good smell acts as a reward for going through the process of applying this product. Therefore, in theory, the consumer is more likely to remember it and use it on a regular basis.”

Bio Oil works just because we exchange not putting any product, to pitting this oil once-twice a day. So even Baby Oil with little bit of vitamin E would do the same.
The main reason why creams/oils etc helps-
a)we finally start looking after ourselves
b)we massage it in. Massage is good.

    ALSO:
“The first ingredient in it is “Mineral Oil”, a byproduct of petroleum. I have a book called the cosmetic ingredient glossary that defines Mineral Oil as “A heavy film forming oil and a Clear liquid mixture of hydrocarbons and a byproduct of petroleum. It is unsuitable for lotions or shampoos as mineral oil coats our skin. This ingredient is not designed to stay on our skin.
Mineral Oil acts as a layer that’s difficult to absorb & can clog the pores, which slows the skins’ ability to eliminate toxins”

I read about using petroleum jelly on incisions, apparently it does same thing as silicon strips- creates a film over it so they don’t dry out and produce too much collagen (scaring).

Funny how much money we all waste on products which has no scientific background, when it’s all down to simple few ingredients- petroleum, vitamins, water. But even buying purest vitamin based oils isn’t going to help, so we are left to use BRAIN POWER- the more we implement the idea of fast healing to our minds, the more chances it’ll work better than miracle products.

However if anyone suggests something- I’ll do a throughout research and share with you ladies 😉

I’m going to start using it before then after. So we shall see. I think the thing with stretch marks if your going to get them…. your going to get them. But I’ll give it a go and see how I get on with it. Xx

Yep Nicki, we can’t escape those!
I will use it too, or more coconut oil, just anything really, but will say the prayers every time (more like curse words hehe or cast a spell) and hope for the best. I guess on this I’m lucky cause I’m only getting tiny implants (lucky?!?!? LUCKY?!?!?! There goes my 5k down the drain…)

And thank you for support, I might do the full “my upgrades” experience story after OP, so I can let my nerves on here rather than suffocate the loved ones xD

I’ve been using stretch mark oil spray from Boots for pre op period of 2 weeks and I’m in on Friday. I can defo tell a difference. My skin on my boobs us very pliable. So I would opt to start the oil prior to surgery from my experience. A lot of girls get stretch marks after they drop. X

Ladies if you use these oils help yourself that extra bit & apply once you have come out of a shower! When you get out of the shower, don’t dry your skin, just place your towel against yourself so your skin isn’t dripping (as in still soaked) but is still very damp & feels damp to touch. By applying these oils whilst your skin in a damp state your skin will naturally absorbs the oil faster & deeper into your skin, it’ll suck up the oils kinda like a sponge!
I can assure you this works, I can not tell you it will remove any marks but I can say it’s definitely the best way to get maximum results from your oil application. If you still feel too greasy to get dressed just spend a little extra time in your bathroom (only 10 minutes) just enough time so that you can get dressed & not feel too greasy or too damp. You’ll be surprised how quickly your skin will suck up the oil & any let over water. I’ve done this throughout 4 pregnancies & it’s help me no end! I did it daily, but as a preventive before any stretch marks could have started to create. I’ve no stretch marks though I do believe a lot of gaining or not gaining stretch marks is msinly down to genetics & the elasticity of your own skin & everyone is different. Some people try everything yet still the stretch marks come. Though for oils application this at is the best! I’ve recently had a BA, full tummy tuck & vaser with Mr Marcellino I had my 3 procedures performed together. Once I’m far along enough to use the oils I’ll be using the bio oil. Good luck to you all!

Daisy- wooow you brave girl! Also 4 kids- absolute respect to you my dear!
Very good advise- when your pores are still open (after shower, or sauna, etc) it’s the best time for any creams/oils/lotions. There used to be Johnson’s Baby Gel, which you need to apply on wet skin, and it absorbs like magic. I used it for many years and can say my skin was looking much younger when I did. Now I struggle to find it though.

Also, does anyone here know when do you need to start massaging (kneading more like it hehehe) your boobies post op? Some girls said from day one, but it sounds a bit harsh. I don’t want them rock solid, no capsular contr&£^$£&$ whatever the word is, so I shall recruit my poor partner for it

Hey Girlie, thank you by the way! I too used the johnsons baby oil gel & yes it’s like magic for your skin I miss it so much I too can’t find it! I have always used 100 percent coconut ever since it’s as good! So re: massaging, all I can personally say is I’m 4 weeks 2 days post operation on my 300cc & 325cc high profile over implants & my surgeon Mr Marcellino said not this coming week but the following week he will teach me how to massage them! Last week I mentioned to him they were feeling sunburnt (this is due to nerve endings stretching) & that they felt very hard. He felt them, told me “they are excellent yes!” That makes me happy as if he says that then they must be okay as he is very much a “half empty” kinda guy. So given that I’ve been told to wait I’d say ask your surgeon first it’ll differ I would think from person to person & surgeon to surgeon. You don’t want to rush a single thing! Good luck with your boobs I bet they look amazing! I’ll try post more pics next week once I’ve seen Mr Marcellino again. Though I have my 6 day pics on the post I did! Good luck friends! X

    Good to hear!

By the way, may I ask anyone who already had their assets assembled, how many post op appointments do you have to attend? I thought it was just one after 7 days, then one after 6 weeks, but it sounds like there’s more. I just wouldn’t be able to get off work too often…
