Think I have an infection, what do I do?!

I’m fairly sure that a part of the incision around my nipple (I had an areola reduction) has become infected. It’s open and looks a bit yellow and is leaking a clear/slightly yellow liquid. Luckily I work in a microbiology lab in a hospital so I’m going to get someone to check tomorrow to see if it looks like it’s infected. If it is, what do I do?? Can I just go to my GP or do I have to inform MYA and see one of their nurses?

hey hun mine looked like and did this!
i contacted mya and spoke to the nurse and emailed pics
then i went in for it dressing with some inadine to help it heal!
shower before you see the nurse though as you go back to shower ban!
it healed up super quick a week later i was all better!
it was slough that i had!
definately go though mya!xxxx

@ness318 thanks for replying 🙂 argh sounds like another trip to mya then, only saw the nurse on Thursday as well! Not looking forward to the prospect of having another shower ban 🙁 I’ve taken pictures tonight incase they want to see and I’ll give them a call first thing. At least it sounds like it was quick to heal 🙂 x
