hi ladies i have posted a lot lately (sorry to be a massive pain! 🙁 ) but one thing really bothering me this morning is horrible cramps in my stomach and slight bloating. did anyone else have this? it doesn’t help that i am having my period as well but thought it may be because of the antibiotics. it’s kind of putting me off food now 🙁 xx

@HELEN hey hun, i’ve literally got the exact same problem it’s agonising! i think the belly pain is from the antibiotics and then bloating from the codeine – also totally lost my appetite! kind of nice knowing i’m not the only one haha but i’ve been told to drink lots of water and try to move around. it sucks 🙁 defo in the same boat if anyone has any advice to help! hope you feel better soon and good luck for recovery 🙂 xx

I’m same, side effect of anaesthetic and cocodamol. I’ve got some bootea, hoping that will help and drinking loads of water xx

Same here. Look 5 months pregnant with these bigger boobs and swollen belly! Oh the joys! Must be the meds. Hopefully it’ll settle for us all.

I am quite bloated too ladies but the cramps can be helped if you make sure you eat something quite stodgy (like bread) right before you take your antibiotics. Bloating unfortunately is inevitable but I’m switching to just paracetamol cos can’t stand looking at my belly anymore or being constipated 🙁 also try taking walks cos it helps the swelling down xxx

My belly is so big and my stomach is making very loud noises. I am trying to cut down to just paracetamol and ibuprofen. I find that if I move around then I feel better. X

yeah i changed to paracetamol over codeine because of the bloating and being bunged up, made me feel so sick! i think i am doing sit ups everytime I try to sit up as well haha i have been trying to eat porridge in the morning before them so might try some seeded bread in the evening as toast xx

Hi girls, hope you’re all recovering well! I had this exact same problem, had terrible back che and waking up in the night feeling like something was digging in my back. All day yesterday I felt like I was coming down with something. So dizzy and lightheaded it was horrible! My step mum said this was probably due to the cocodamol and I think she was right. I only had paracetamol yesterday and today (and took 2 before going to sleep) I’m still struggling to stand up for too long, but I slept the whole night through last night! As good as this was it meant I skipped taking pain relief during the night and woke up in agony this morning, But back on the paracetamol and the pain has eased off loads again now.
Can’t wait for Monday hopefully get this strapping off and see what they look like! Xx

I had the same, really bad bloating & cramps as well as my period. I took loads of laxatives (and I mean loads because nothing was going anywhere- sorry to say) and I had my hot water bottle on my tummy too. I stopped taking pain killers after 4 days because of the bloating and constipation, managed well considering. Had a few tearful moments but I was fine. Feeling much better now- 17 days post op today xxx

Hey, i am going through the same agony. Is it normal to have a shooting pain going across from the stitching?

I’m getting shooting burning pains too today. Not liking them at all and it keeps catching me off guard. Other than this and the bloated belly I do feel miles better today though 🙂 xx

yeah the shooting pains are nerves stitching themselves back together if it’s where your incisions are. my stomach pains are only really there now first thing in the morning when I wake up but think my period hasn’t helped at all xx

It’s not where in incision is, it’s in the centre of my boob, it feels like my pectoral muscle contracting sharply (and involuntary) it’s strange and painful! Xx

like where the sternum is? in between the 2 boobs or actual centre of 1 boob? could be your boob adjusting to the implant as it’s something new and foreign to get used to. i have the sternum pain horribly like someone’s broke a rib but it’s only really bad when i am up and about for too long. i would call your nurse if it’s really bad hun xx
