Anyone had vaser lipo and can give some advice on how much swelling occurs and how long it takes to go down?
Looking to have it on upper and lower abs, flanks, bingo wings, knees and inner thighs, does anyone know of kinds of prices this costs also??
Any help will be most appreciated, thanks in advance 🙂 xx

Hey i had a consultation yesterday about getting vaser lipo. Im sure you can only get it on 4 areas at one time. and the prices are different to traditional liposuction. you pay by the area with traditional, but with vaser you pay for the time you are in the opp. for example if you were in for an hour you pay something like 3650, i cant remember exactly how much. then 1hr 1/4 you pay 3895 and so on…

i had arms, tummy, inner thighs, knees… i am 5 weeks post op, swelling went down a lot, but still some areas are numb. i had to wear garment (full body) for 4 weeks… it is really limiting. and swelling comes back if you take it off. i was in for 2.5 hours, paid for 3! 3.2liters of fat was removed… add me, i have some photos on as well.
    hope this helps.

Thank you ladies for replying 🙂

When is it you have your surgery Abbie? Have to let me know how you go on 🙂 i have been thinking so much about this surgery for so long its nice to know others that have had it done or are going to have it done and have someone to talk to about it. Everyone thinks i am crazy for even thinking about it, but if it will make me feel more confident and happy then why not 🙂

Miss-Vi the results you have gotten so far are really good, you must be so pleased 🙂 can’t wait to see the final results.
The compression garments you have to wear do you have to wear them 24/7,and does it make you hot? My job is quite active so i am just wondering if it is really restrictive or can you still go about your day to day activities ok? i’d only be able to take a week off maximum. Did you have much pain aswell following? i know they can give you prescribed medication to control it, just wondering if it got unbearable at all? and one last question if you dont mind answering, what was the cost for the 3 hours you paid for, did you pay for it all in one go or is there good finance available? i had a consultation before at the Hospital group and the APR % was crazy.

Thanks again, sorry about the 20 questions :/ xx

Im not sure when my surgery is but im meeting the surgeon on the 1st of april. So hopefully as soon as possible after that! I havent even told my family because they think im just being silly! But if you want it, go for it! Its your body not theirs 🙂 im so excited! I will let you know when my surgery is 🙂 you pay by the hour, 3 hours would be over 4000, im not quite sure. But they have really good finance options! Have you been for a consultation yet? Xx

haha 🙂 that is lots of quesions Amylia 😉
ok will try to answer all, if i miss something remind me pls 🙂
    1. you HAVE to wear compression garments (CG to shorten) 24/7 for the first 2 weeks. You cannot shower in first week not to make incisions wet. you have to wear a foam under CG for your tummy as it would help decrease swelling. I didnt feel hot, more over after a week i didnt sweat much in CG! it is quite breathable. in cold weather it was a nice additional layer of underwear 😉 If you have multiple zones treated you will need a full body CG. makom makes them, they are not bad at all. you can move around easily. what will restrict you is swelling. if you move too much it will come back and so will pain. so i found that for me it was 30 mins sitting/lying on sofa, 10 mins walking around and so on. if you sit too much, you become really stiff and it is hard to get up and move around again (that is if you had you tummy treated as i did… the WHOLE tummy). if you move too much, you will get swollen fast… if i was sitting too long, i couldt stand straight for a minute or so, feeling really stiff in my tummy. so try to combine moving and resting for the best result. After a week you will see a nurse and she will check your scars and tell you if you can shower.
    2. the first week for me was quite a tough one. so i guess try to take the first week off completely and stock up on food as you shouldnt carry heavy things in the first few days. or have someone to help you.
    3. i was prescribed co-codamol for pain relief. it has codeine in it, which made me really nauseous and constipated ;( it was bad. so i called nurse on day 2 and she advised changing it to paracetamol and ibuprofen. keep that in mind. pain is tolerable, as you will have local pain killers which are injected together with solution to remove fat. so for a long time areas will be numb and only swelling will hurt as it stretches the skin… i couldnt stand on my knees it did hurt a lot, but walking around was ok. you will do everything very slow in the first few days, but if you do not overkill on activities, you will find the best combination of rest and activities, that doesnt make you feel too tired or in pain. I stopped taking painkillers a week after. It is bearable. i have a low pain threshold so if i could do it, you should be able too! 😉
    4. payment is a difficult one… i paid for 3 hours + ba with soft touch implants which i will have next week… it was 10.8k in total… i guess it doesnt help you much as it is a special price for 2 procedures.
MYA has finance. i didnt qualify for it though 😉 and i had enough savings to go for it without finance. but talk to your PC, they will tell you all abt it.

last thing to keep in mind is that it will take months before you can see your final results… so just be prepared 🙂 i didnt feel slimmer or more cofident until 5 weeks later! and still not even 100% sure i am slimmer :DDDD well my trousers say so though ;))) It is crazy thing to do, i agree 🙂 but i am very suborn, if i decided something, i will do it 😀

have lymphatic drainage massage – it is a MUST from the first week, it will speed up recovery! find someone to do it before your op, so you do not have to search after. the earlier you start doing it but faster you will recover!

    hope this helps 😀
good luck to both of you!

    Hi abbie,

Thanks again for replying and good luck for the 1st of april. I havent been for a consultation yet, The closest clinic for me is about an hour n half away and with my work hours at the mo i am finding it difficult to plan in a date to go, but i am going to try and get in at the end of march when we have the long wkend, good fri and mon off. I cant wait 😀 i havnt told my mum either about anything she would kill me if she knew but as i live with her its going to become very evident when i do finally get the surgery done, although i was planning to go away somewhere for the week after the surgery so she cant see me. Whether this is a good idea or not is another story as i will be having to cope on my own :/ i’m sure it will be fine though 😀 4000 is a really good price for 3 hours. i was quoted 5000 with another company and that was on 4 areas. Let me know how u go on after your meeting on the 1st, and hopefully by then too i will have gone for my consultation 😀 What areas are you having the vaser on? 🙂 xx

Miss Vi- u are a little star , thank you so much for answering my hundred questions 😀 you must have finger ache from all the typing, hehe.
My pain threshold is quite high so i arent too worried about the pain. what concerned me was not showering for a week but i spose if i take the wk off it wont matter if i become a stink bomb lol. also when you said you were still numb i thought it was because damage had been caused to your nerves etc but now you mention the pain relief injection that clears that one up too. Do the wounds weep much? the foam you wear under the CG on your tummy, where is this from? is this something you have to change regularly or something you put on and then your CG over it and then leave it for the 2weeks? also with the lympatic drainage how often a week do you have to have this? and for how long is it advised? the other consultant i saw from another company told me tht its a must but wasnt sure where on earth i’d find someone that did this, is it available at most beauty places or just at special clinics? i think i will be like you and not quite believe i have actually changed until my clothes are too big. i’m very impatient too so i will just have to keep telling myself to be patient as if i cant see results straight away i will become very disheartened but i know it will be worth it after its all settled 🙂
I understand the stubborn thing 😉 if you saw me you would probably think why on earth are u even thinking about doing this, your tiny but i exercise eat strictly but there are areas that are just fat and wont go no matter what i do, so they have to go lol. i want to wear what i want each day not what hides my wobbly bits so i am doing this 😀
Thank you again for your time in answering all my questions, and good luck for next week. take care xxx

I willl let you know what the surgeon says etc.. aaw the closest clinic for me was newcastle and i had to travel an hour and a half too.. It was a long journey but it was the only way to get things started, At first i thought it was pointless having a consultation but tbh its really worth it and im glad i went. Hmm i wouldnt plan on gonig anywhere for a week after. youre going to be quite uncomfortable and need lots of rest and people looking after you! my mum has no idea im even looking into it, and i will tel her if i do book the surgery. But i know what she will say. she will be annoyed i think, but at the end off the day its my body and my money. If its what you want go for it, your mum cant stop you! I live with my mum too, but luckily id be staying with y boyfriends family after the opp as they stay near london! 🙂 I was really shocked at the prices, because it only goes by the hour i think its great. My PC doesnt think ill need more than an hour and a 1/4 so itll only cost me 3895! 😀 Im getting knees, calves, thighs and bum! Im really nervous and worried they wont take enough out! but we will see. When you go to your consultation they will say to you if they think traditional lipo or vaser will be best for you and give you the results you want. 🙂

I will keep you updated! 🙂

Hi Amylia 🙂 i didnt see how much i typed in until i posed it! ;)) was impressed myself 😀
back to your new questions – my wounds did not weep at all after the 24h. i staye over night, so there was nothing coming out of wounds by the time i got home.
the foam i was given by a surgeon after the op. you could buy foam on macom, they sell them, it looks thinner and sexier than mine, which is just a really huge piece of foam 😀 like the one you would use for bath or doing dishes 😀 i will take a pic and put it on later. I used mine all the time and didnt need to change it at all. I didnt sweat and didnt smell badly in the first week (when you are not allowed to shower) i think because all the antibiotics kill and smells on you 😀 i smelled like meds 😀 i mean, it is not the worst case and i guess the CG is breathable, so you do not sweat in it that much. so you will be fine without a shower for a week.
regarding MLD, i found a person who does it on internet. there is apparently a forum of registered MLD ppl, I will have to check it for you. on it you will be able to find one in your area. depending on the zones, recommended number of sessions varies. i did 6, but just didint have much more money left 🙁 normally it is 10 per zone. in an hour it is possible to do 2-3 zones well. if you can afford 10 times, do it. actually the more the better. I learned how to do it myself, so now i do self MLD. still works 😉 just much more tiring… i did 2-3 sessions a week. felt really great after them! recommend a lot!
let me know how you get on with your planning for vaser. i think if i had someone i could ask all my questions, i would have recovered much faster 🙂 so i hope my replies help 😉 i also posted you a link on some prices but it was corrected by mod 🙂
if you really want to do it – do. you wont be able to do sports for a while, this drives me crazy… but hopefully then you will have the best results 🙂
    good luck with it all!
i am off to bed 😉 my admission time is 7.30 am tomorrow! still dont believe it!

    Hi Abbie,
I spoke to an advisor and she is going to get back to me with dates and times available around the end of march so fingers crossed i can get the ball rolling then 😀 With my job i realistically wont be able to get the actual surgery done until august time thats when my next week off will be and when work will be most quite with regards to lifting and being on the move. I dont particularly want to tell them so i will have to be as normal as i can when i am there and they are so observant of me i onlyhave to frown and theyr on my case abouts whats wrong so if i am waddling like a cripple they’l defo know somethings up :/ will also give me chance to save more and then hopefully i wont need the finance. Miss vi advised about the lympathatic drainage massage and that can be quite pricey so will need to save for this also :/ thats a really good price you have been given 😀 i’m the same as you i have an image in my head of what i want to look like and i am worried its unrealistic and they wont take enough and i’ll be disappointed but when i get my consultation i will take some pictures with me to say this is what i want to look like ,,, is it possible. when i had a consultation before they advised that i would probably be better having the vaser high def for the results i wanted. I want to look really athletic like six pack looking not the soft look. i am also worried about my skin not tightening and becoming saggy and wrinkly :/ i dnt wanna look like i have a wrinkly granny stomach :/ my skin elasticity isnt very good but the dr told me that at my age (27) and the compression garment and massage that this will help it contract. i made the woman laugh aswell as i said i want the six pack look but dont want to look like darryn lyons (whos a big guy with a six pack, looks really fake) :/ anyway i’m babbling lol. will keep you posted about when i get a date and time 😀 xxx

I first read your reply on my fone so didnt see how much there actually was untill i logged on my laptop .. WOW 😉 but definatley your replies are really helping me alot to clear up all the questions i have, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to them all, i know theres alot i keep asking :/
I will hopefully get a date and time through soon for a consultation, i spoke to an advisor on sunday and she said she will get back to me as soon as she can. tht’d b great if you have a link for the massage places, then hopefully i can learn how to do it myself aswell incase i run out of money also :/ the no exercise part will defo drive me nutts but knowing its for my own benefit for better results will steer me clear of trying to do anything. i dont want anything to go wrong and it be my fault so i’l refrain from doing anything (might even enjoy being lazy for abit 😉
Thank you again for all your help and good luck with your procedure tomorrow, my thoughts will be with you, take care and look forward to hearing all about it 🙂 sweet dreams for now xxx

sure Abbie! legs are getting better. swelling is almost all gone and i can stand on my knees without too much pain. i think it will still take some time for the skin to tighten and i think lots of gym 😀 but i am now recovering from my ba and have to wait with the gym for another 3 weeks… but i took a photo of my boobs yesterday and saw that my tummy is much flatter! that was nice thing to realize 😉

Hi Amylia, I think i’m quite similar to you. I’m a 10 but eat so strictly and have a personal trainer but certain areas just won’t shift grr! I have my consultation tomorrow, I want inner/outer thighs, abdo and flanks doing so hopefully it won’t be too much because there isn’t a lot of fat to remove ha but I’m just worried about the swelling because I go away in July so would want it to have gone down by then! I’m hoping to get in for surgery ASAP to give the swelling longer to go down. Also I’m only telling my boyf I’m having this done haha I want everyone to think I’ve just worked my ass off in the gym! 🙂

I have only told one friend i am actually having it done and i dont think he thinks i will go through with it, just says if its going to make me happier then go for it. defo not telling any one else :/ i’ll have to blagg it why i am walking like a cripple lol. good luck with your consultation tmorrow, let me know how you go on?? 🙂 i too am worried about how much swelling there will be, i dont want to have to wear that garment when its hot weather and i want to wear little clothes and i’m all puffy and swollen :/ and having to cover up :/ no one else needs to know do they 😉 let them think ur just a natural goddess 😉 hehe.

Hi, yep I just live with my boyf so I’ll be a recluse for a while but realistically I can only hide away for 7-8 days max without people getting suspicious haha! I might pretend i’m very ill with some kind of bug and bed-bound! Abbie what areas are you having done and how much is it costing you? Also what clinic are you going to? So excited to go to my consultation, my boyf thinks I’m mad and don’t need it doing but i’m like you Amylia, I feel like I should be much slimmer for how much I exercise and how healthy I eat…hopefully Vaser is the answer!! I don’t want to tell anyone because people get jealous and bitchy haha! xx

Also how long do you have to wait for surgery? I just want it doing ASAP before I wimp out 😀 I’ve been reading so many reviews online and everyone keeps saying they wish they’d had it sooner. Also does anyone know if inner/outer thighs count as 2 areas? xx

the less u wait the better it is 🙂 i think there is 2 weeks cooling off period MYA has, so that is the min time, if you have a date with the surgeon straight after. inner and outer thighs are normally 2 different zones. Vaser works a bit different though, they charge you for each hour you spend in theater and not for the number of zones.
u will need a week to get over initial swelling and if you do the lymphatic massage you could be almost normal in 2 weeks. can always say after 2 weeks that you stretched ur muscles in gym too much and thus cant walk fast 😉

i’m only 5ft 1inch so i’m even mor squashed dwn than u 🙁 lol seriously though i weigh very little but my stomach still has rolls, my arms and legs are flabby and it really gets to me. i always wear clothes to cover me up and i dont want another summer, or year hiding away.
i’l deffo let you know how my consultation goes 🙂
Olivia you sound like me, i was going to take a week off wrk have the surgery and go away to a cottage for a week so NO ONE knew anything and never tell anyone haha. i’m gud at bein a recluse so no one with suspect me for hiding away for abit 😉 lol. i dont want to tell anyone because they really do think i am mad, but they dont see what i have to see without my clothes, else they’d be down MYA in a jiffy too :/ I still have to save some more money for what i want done. i dont think i will wimp out i have been wanting this for so long i cant think of anything else. i think inner and outer thighs are classed as 2 areas yes. with my wrk i will probably have to wait until august when it quietens down and i wont be so active at work. that means another summer i will be unhappy but then i spose i can recover properly in the colder weather and baggy jumpers 😉 let me know how much yours is costing tmorrow? so i have some idea of how much mor i need to get saving :/
    good luck 😀 xxx

It was great, the lady doing my consultation was soooo lovely! She completely understood where I was coming from 🙂 I’m going for flanks, inner/outer thighs and tum! Its pretty pricey and I won’t know for sure until I have my surgical consultation but if it’s the full 2 hrs itll be £4995 but I’d rather have all the areas I want doing done, instead of only getting half done then wishing I’d paid the extra if you get me? I’m not sure about which surgeon to have arghh both have good reviews online I think it all comes down to the dates Mr Kingdon can do the 23rd April but Mr Schiavone can do the 3rd, but I might ring tomorrow and find out if there’s anyway I can have it done the week of the 15th because that’ll work out better for me tbh! Fingers crossed! xx

Awww i’m so glad to hear its all going good 🙂 are you having the full tummy done (upper and lower?) thats what i will need. I totally understand though getting it all done at once, gets it all out the way instead of having bits and bobs done and it end up costing more in the long run. Are you having finance? or are able to pay out right? I still need to save for a couple of months before i can realistically get it all done 🙁 🙁 i just tried to have a look aswell for the surgeons you mentioned and they both seem pretty good at what they do (atleast you will know you’re in good hands either way). Always worth a shot, if you dont ask you dont get 🙂 i’ll keep my fingers and everything crossed for you 🙂 let me know how you get on 😀 and good luck xxx

Stay away from VASER. Do not even consider it.

Once you decide to do liposuction (lipo) or fat transfer and you discuss it with a doctor you will discover there are multiple methods for the surgery. They are basically either mechanical or thermal. The laser ones all fall into the thermal category. There is a laser probe that is inserted, liquefying the fat, then the operator removes the fat. The probe uses laser to make the process quicker and easier (in theory). Does that happen? The answer is NO

I went for consulation with multiple doctors and I finally decided to do it with a doctor who used Vaser who had a great local reviews. The description of how the process worked seemed to make sense. I underwent my procedure of lipo from the flanks in June 2015. Right after the procedure I noticed something was wrong. Two things actually: the skin area of the procedure was red, hot, and tender; there was also deep pain in the procedure area. I thought that was just a transient side effect of the procedure. Wrong!

I saw the doctor the next day and he assured me it would go away in a few days. Wrong! He asked to see me every day for the following 2 weeks. He put me on Antibiotics and steroids. I took his advice amd went home and followed his regimen. Nothing changed. The redness did not go down and the pain actually increased. The pain was both superficial and deep and it was so debilitating that Advil/tylenol made no difference. I had to be on Percocet or Vicodin for the pain to be tolerated. You can imagine the effect this whole ordeal had on me/my work and my family.

Here is the worse news: I am now 3 months after the procedure and the skin discolration is still there. It did not go away and I do not think it will go away. I did not know what to do so I went for a consult with 3 dermatologists and plastic surgeons. All of them agreed that what I experienced was a skin injury/burn resulting from the Vaser probe. As the Vaser probe is inserted to liquefy the fat, it also possesses a lot of thermal energy that it damaged/burned the skin from inside. Is this an operator’s fault? Or is it Vaser’s fault? The answer is both.

My doctor was one of the top plastic surgeons in the area and I investigated him fully before I visited him. His reviews by his patients and his peers were all excellent. He had a lot of experience with Vaser.

I called Vaser Lipo company (www.vaser.com) and told them about the issue and they never got back to me.

My doctor did not admit it was his mistake. He keeps saying it is a typical reaction to Vaser. My summer is already ruined and I think I will have to live with this for the rest of my life.

…Please stay away from Vaser. Its a disaster
