A really close friend of mine has a boob job in 2014 with MYA and her results were amazing. From the age of 19 I started looking into MYA and even had a consultation at one of their old London clinics but I decided to wait a little longer to see if my body shape would improve or not.
I decided to look into the procedure again once I had received my final university results and decided to treat myself to a graduation gift. MYA were still top of my list but I still looked around too and had other consultations.
I’m sorry to be honest but I found these stories so helpful. My first consultation with the surgeon was horrible. I left in tears and even started to consider MYA’s competitors but after I had an honest and open conversation with my PC I decided to see another surgeon instead. The second time around I felt so much at ease and rearing to go.
After meeting with the second surgeon on the 11th July my surgery was booked for just 4 days after! Although it was so soon I did not feel any rush or pressure and everything was still done accordingly.
Thursday morning came and I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry.. I couldn’t believe the day was finally here. I came into the clinic alone and was busy chatting away with another lovely patient. We were both shown our rooms (which I must mention was soooo clean) (as I work for Hilton Hotels I have a huge thing about cleanliness).
I removed all jewellery and was asked to give to standard pregnancy test and about a hr later I met the nurses and Dr Joffily came to doodle on my body. 10 mins after that at 11am I was on the bed to be sedated. I woke up just over 2 hrs later with my sister in my room and cuddling my boyfriends jumper.
It didn’t even feel like I had just had surgery and even told my sister I wanted to go bowling. 2 hours later however after all the leakage and the anaesthetic had worn off I was feeling defeated. The nurses provided me with some tea and toast and I took some pain killers.
A few hours after that I was discharged and took a taxi home.
Well I’m typing this now on Monday 20th and I’m back at work.
Ladies the pubic area swelling is not the most delightful but there isn’t much pain there.
The weekend was fun. – NOT – I think the hardest part is the vest. It’s so restrictive and bulky. It got cut down on Saturday at my 48 hour follow up but its still just there!! I’ve had to wear clothes that are 3 sizes up from my size to accommodate this bullet proof vest! I cried when I took it off to shower on Saturday. It took me, my mum and my sister to help strap me back in to the thing! – I will update more on recovery in a few more days I guess. Pics will soon follow.
