    Hiya girls

Need some help/advice. I have a wedding reception when il be 4wpo. It’s only from 7pm-1.30am. Will I be ok to come out of my sports bra for the evening to wear a dress? I’ve looked for ones to hide the bra but it’s so hard. The styles are old and frumpy and I’m struggling to find something I like. Il be out of the gym also, so I already know I’m going to feel fat and bloated!

Has anyone had an occasion where thy have taken off their sports bra for an evening? If so, how long for? Did you feel ok? Or is it not advised? I’m stressing already and I haven’t even got my surgery until May!

I’m also having an uplift, I don’t known if this changes anything? Hmm. Help!

    Thanks in advance xxx

Hi Jess Im sure you will be fine to go without or wear one of those bandeau bras for a bit.. lots of different surgeons have different advice and some dont even recommend bras so dont worry. As yourl be used to wearing one you will prob be more comfortable in something. I had to go to a funeral and wore a bra under the dress I was wearing for several hours in week 2 and it was fine. x

I’d have a back up outfit just incase as I found my boobs really heavy and unbearable when I took off my bra. Yano when you get home and take your bra off it feels like a relief, well I was the opposite and as soon as I took it off couldn’t wait to put it back on lol xxx

i found wearing a non wired bra worked fine. so not a sports bra or macom. they had some cheap options in sainsburys for £8 each, or spend a bit more and get one at VS for £30 – better fit for lower cut tops/dresses. i was advised by my nurse that after 2 weeks i could spend the odd evening braless as long as it wasn’t a regular occurrence but everyone is different and heals differently. i’d try a non wired bra and then at least you have some support x

I would try and get something with some support, at that stage I still couldn’t bear it without a sports bra it felt really wrong and they felt so heavy still! Also you’ll want to get up and dance and the movement will probably give you pain whether it be at the time or achyness the day after especially without any type of bra at all x

I’m 4 WPO tmro and had a couple of evenings where I’ve been out for a meal and drinks wearing a non wired like soft bra lette from primark instead of the macoms just because they don’t come up so high so can wear most clothes and I was fine. They’re only a fiver from primark xxxx
