Dissolve Unwanted Stubborn Fat, Aqualyx is an injectable solution which is capable of assisting the dissolving of stubborn areas of subcutaneous fat.
Aqualyx is injected directly into fat deposits by a qualified medical professional. It can be used in any areas where stubborn fat deposits exist.
The most common areas for treatment include stomach, saddle bags, neck and chin, hips, thighs and knees. It is also useful in the treatment of pseudo gynaecomastia in men.
Aqualyx works by liquifying the fat cell. This causes the fat cell to be destroyed permanently. This in turn causes lipids to be released which are subsequently eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system.
Depending on the areas being treated , the whole treatment takes around thirty to sixty minutes. In most cases local anaesthetic is added as part of the treatment to achieve maximum comfort possible during the treatment itself.
The Doctor uses a special cannula to administer the aqualyx. Two injection spots are normally required for each area that you would like treated.
Repeat treatments will be required to achieve the very best results. The Doctor will advise you at the consultation of the number of treatments that are likely to be required for you.
To be accepted for Aqualyx treatment you must be over 18 years old and not pregnant.
After treatment you can go home. No hospital stay is required. Over the next few days you should expect some swelling and bruising of the treated area. The area will also feel tender and the skin may be itchy at first. for most Patients these side effects pass in a matter of days. *Individual Results May Vary

What is AQUALYX™?
Well, first of all you will be pleased to know that Aqualyx is completely biocompatible and biodegradable. Your fat cells will dissolve and the body will then expel them naturally.
Aqualyx itself is an injectable hydrous, micro-gelantuoussolution, a complex detergent from the desoxycholate family.
What happens during the treatment ?
The procedure is performed by one of our fully qualified Doctors, with special training in Aqualyx treatment.
It is don’t in an out Patient basis, this means that you can go home directly afterwards.
Aqualyx is injected together with local anaesthetic into the area where you want to lose the fat. The amount of Aqualyx injected will depend on the area being treated.
When the treatment is being performed the area will feel warm. You might notice a slight burning sensation and area may feel itchy.
Treatment takes only 30 to 60 minutes, again depending on the area being treated and the amount of Aqualyx being used.
How will I feel afterwards ?
You may notice some reddening of the skin in the treated area and some mild swelling. This settles usually after a. Few days in most cases. The recovery time is much less than a liposuction procedure where one to two weeks off work are required. The short recovery time is just one of the reasons our patients like Aqualyx so much. It’s best to avoid strenuous exercise for the first week after treatment. You may feel a bit sore for the first few days and you will want to give this time to settle down.
How many treatments will I need ?
For small areas such as the chin one to two treatments may be all that is required. Other areas such as the stomach may require 3 to 8 treatments. We usually allow four weeks between each treatment.
Which areas of the body can you treat with AQUALYX™
AQUALYX™ can be used for the dissolution of fat deposits. We can treat almost all areas of the body. It should not be used near the eyes however.
When will I start to see results?
Aqualyx will set to work on dissolving those fat cells straight away. Remember though that you will have some minor swelling and bruising at first so you need to allow time for this to settle. We will monitor your progress after treatment of course and the Doctor will see you in clinic to review your progress. After two to three months the results should be apparent.
