Detailed Information

The Procedure

After years of laughing, wrinkles or lines appear where the skin creases. Muscle relaxants works by paralysing the small muscles that create these facial movements and this reduces the amount of creases. To relieve excessive sweating, they are injected in the hands, feet or under the arms. Muscle relaxants are administrated using a very fine needle, usually a local anaesthetic cream will be applied first.

How long does it take?

About 5 - 10 minutes in the expert hands of our specialists and you can wear make-up straight away.

Is it right for me?

Muscle relaxants are the best treatment for lines and wrinkles in the upper face – around the eyes, on the forehead and for frown lines between the eyebrows. They can’t eradicate deep lines altogether. Dermal fillers may be required to enhance their effect.   A face lift is the most appropriate treatment in extreme cases. Muscle relaxants are mainly used to slow down the ageing process. The protein in the injection binds to the nerve endings preventing the muscle from working. However, the nerves grow new connections after three to six months and the muscles become active again. So you’ll need regular top up treatments.

What happens after treatment?

Treatment is quick and no medical aftercare is required. So you can carry on as normal.
