30/11/2007
People want to know more about cosmetic surgery whether they go ahead with treatment or not, it has been reported.
The Plastic Surgery Group in Albany, New York hasve announced that during a number of seminars, people have expressed interest in the industry even if they do not want or need surgery.
Dr Susan Gannon, board certified Albany plastic surgeon explained that potential patients often like to discuss the decision with their loved ones present.
She said: "The idea of a sit-down consultation with a plastic surgeon can make some people a little nervous."
"It''s maybe one reason why we''re seeing a growing trend today for joint consultations among friends and family members," she continued.
A study by the University of California found that 48 per cent of women have expressed an interest in cosmetic surgery and a further 23 per cent claim they might possibly be interested.
