Ashlee Simpson rhinoplasty confirmed

It has been confirmed American starlet Ashlee Simpson - who has long denied having any cosmetic surgery - has definitely had a nose job.

The news was released after her father Joe Simpson - who manages both Ashlee and her sister Jessica - conducted an interview with Fox News.

He told the news network that the operation had not been his idea, but it was not his place to tell his daughters what to do.

"Girls have their own ideas," he said. "Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured."

During the interview, he also admitted that Jessica Simpson's infamously vacant demeanour on MTV series Newlyweds was not a put on.

In one episode, she famously asked her husband how chickens could live in the sea after being presented with a can of tuna made by US brand Chicken of the Sea.
