ASPS: More US men had face lifts in 2007
27/03/2008

The number of men having face lifts in the US increased by 16 per cent year-on-year in 2007, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Face lifts for women in the country increased by 14 per cent during the same period, the research indicates.
"It is not surprising that the highly visible focal points of the face and chest would interest both women and men seeking plastic surgery," said ASPS president Richard D''Amico.
Even though 91 per cent of plastic surgery procedures are reportedly performed on women, he added that it was "interesting" to see that the rate of increase is "comparable" for both sexes.
In addition to there being a higher number of people having face surgery, the ASPS reports that breast augmentation for women increased by six per cent and pectoral implant surgery for men rose by eight per cent.
The total number of people to have cosmetic plastic surgery in 2007 was 59 per cent higher than the number who undertook procedures in 2000, the ASPS also states.
