Best Actress nominee 'not ruling out surgery'

22/02/2008

Oscar nominee Julie Christie has not ruled out further cosmetic surgery, it has been reported.

The 66-year-old star, who is up for Best Actress at this year''s awards ceremony, told the Western Mail that she has already had "minor" work done and is tempted to have more to stay looking young.

"I am tempted every time I look in the mirror," she said. "You want your familiar face back when you see all the lines around your chin, neck, eyes, mouth, your b***y arms and everything else."

Ms Christie explained that in the film industry, it is simply a question of whether stars want to appear good and beautiful or allow people to see the effects of ageing blown up on the big screen.

Should she win the Best Actress at this year''s awards, Ms Christie will be celebrating the second Oscar of her career.

Also nominated are Cate Blanchett, Laura Linney, Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard.
