Breast reduction technique benefits enlargement procedures

A breast surgery procedure, popular in Europe for 30 years, is said to improve the long-term, aesthetic results of breast reshaping surgery.
The ''Short Scar Breast Lift'' or Vertical Mammoplasty is more commonly associated with breast reduction procedures but is increasingly being used for breast augmentation and enhancement.
Cosmetic surgeon Dr Jeffrey Ditesheim said: "I''ve been using this procedure for over nine years and prefer it to older, more traditional techniques because it heals well, fades, and becomes less visible over time."
"The large transverse scar was often problematic because of its size and location under the breasts. Clothing and appearance can be very important at any age and no woman wants a visible scar."
He explains that to minimise scarring above the nipple, excess breast tissue is removed below on both sides of each breast to eliminate long-term shape distortion.
In general, breast augmentation, reduction and breast lift procedures tend to take around two hours of surgery.
