Combination treatment 'exciting cosmetic development'
24/01/2008
A new development in non-surgical cosmetic enhancements is helping patients reap maximum benefits from one treatment, it has been claimed.
Dr Brian Biesman, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon of Nashville Centre for Laser and Facial Surgery in Nashville, Tennessee, explained that Blepharoplasty, combined with Portrait Plasma and Botox can all be used to help obtain a youthful looking eye area.
"Blepharoplasty removes the excess tissue and skin, but Portrait Plasma improves skin quality. It smoothes fine lines and treats both wrinkles and sun damage, which surgery alone cannot do," he said.
Dr Biesman remarked that he is confident and excited in the changes in the cosmetic enhancement industry, as the treatment can remove excess skin and tissue and also smooth the fine lines caused by sun damage.
Non-surgical treatments are fuelling the UK market, with 415,000 procedures performed in 2006 alone.
Botox and chemical peels dominated the market, a Mintel survey revealed.
