Cosmetic surgery - a good business move?

There is an increasing trend of businessmen and women seeking cosmetic surgery to improve their chances in the corporate world, it has been claimed.

According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, around two-thirds of US surgeons have treated patients looking to improve their appearance for work-related reasons.

Speaking to US News, Gordon Patzer, author of Looks: Why They Matter More Than You Ever Imagined, claimed that graduates who are good looking are more likely to get a job than those who are not.

In addition to this, attractive managers are often seen as more persuasive and authoritative, he added, as well as more likely to continue being successful as they age.

"It''s a good investment for the workplace," Mr Patzer concluded.

Cosmetic dentist Ian Buckle recently told the Liverpool Daily Post that he has seen an increase in the number of businessmen looking to improve their smiles and their success in business as a result.
