Couple spend £25,500 on surgery

21/02/2008

Some couples would rather spend money on self-improvement than home-improvement, it has been claimed.

Neil and Vicki Taylor told the Sun newspaper that the £25,500 they have jointly splashed out on cosmetic surgery was all worth it.

Mrs Taylor explained that following the success of the procedures to remove her eye bags and the lump on her nose, it only felt natural to improve the rest of her body.

She had liposuction on her thighs and hips and a tummy tuck to remove excess skin.

"It''s hard to feel confident when there are bits of you that stick out like a sore thumb no matter how hard you try to cover them up," she said.

Her husband Neil was so impressed by the results of the surgery, he decided to have hair transplants to correct his bald patch and liposuction to remove his love handles.

Explaining to the newspaper that the procedures are permanent, Mr Taylor claimed that whereas some couples splash out on lavish holidays, they would rather invest in cosmetic surgery.

Last year, Dr Vito Quatela told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that people often opt for certain procedures after seeing the success of friends or loved ones'' cosmetic enhancements.
