More men are 'seeking cosmetic surgery'

Liposuction and abdominal etching are the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures among men, it has been claimed.
According to Dale Reynolds, an El Paso plastic surgeon, the majority of men cannot get rid of the excess area around their waist - known as love handles - no matter how much they exercise or diet.
Liposuction can remove this stubborn excess tissue or at least reduce the fullness in the area, he said.
Other popular treatments include abdominal etching, where excess fat is removed from the abdomen to create the appearance of a six-pack, and also hair removal, he added.
Dr Reynolds cites figures from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery which found that all procedures increased by 32 per cent, with a significant increase among male patients.
"As men become aware of what is available to them and are open to looking into these procedures, they can improve their confidence," he said.
The Times has reported that during 2006, a record number of males sought breast augmentation to remove their "mobs", with 4,000 operations being carried out in the UK alone.
