Neck lift 'can now be done in an hour'
26/09/2007
Advances in cosmetic surgery procedures mean that the neck can now be adjusted in a one-hour procedure that does not require an accompanying full facelift, it has been reported.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the procedure can even be carried out in an office setting under local anaesthetic.
Dr. Michael Marschall of Plastic Surgery Consultants has been undertaking neck lifts for around a year and says that they are "becoming more popular, no question".
The procedure requires only a small incision, although Mr Marschall says this means it is not for everybody.
Larger patients usually require liposuction in addition to the neck lift, but this does not bring any real complications he says.
Great-grandmother Jeannine Warren, 76, had the operation several months ago and when the Sun-Times asked her if she was pleased with the outcome she said: "Oh my goodness, yes."
Half of all American adult females would consider having some form of cosmetic surgery, according to a recent study.
