People turn to surgery to achieve 'bikini body'

With summer fast approaching, now is a popular time for people to consider cosmetic surgery, it has been claimed.
Dr Jeffrey Wagner of Wagner and Associates Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Consultants in Indiana, US explained that following a long winter, people are preparing to reveal more of their figure in the sun.
However, many are not happy with their body shape, he added, claiming that spring is in fact one of the busiest times of year for cosmetic surgery clinics.
"Breast augmentation is about more than boosting size or looking fantastic in a bathing suit," said Dr Wagner. "It''s about feeling confident in your own skin - being able to wear what you want and feel good about the way you look."
Another popular procedure is body contouring, which can be combined with breast augmentation, he commented, claiming abdominoplasty - a tummy tuck - or liposuction are good choices.
Dr Payman Simoni, a Beverly Hill-based cosmetic surgeon, recently told Forbes magazine that figure-orientated cosmetic surgery such as breast augmentation and liposuction is more popular in sunnier regions such as California and Arizona.
Residents of cooler locations such as New Jersey are more likely to opt for facial surgery, he said.
