Liposuction works well to remove stubborn areas of fat that simply won't shift through diet and exercise alone. At MYA liposuction is performed under general anaesthetic. The most popular areas for men are the chest, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. Through tiny incisions in the skin a hollow metal tube or cannula, breaks up the fat beneath the skin. It is then removed by a syringe or vacuum pump. Ultrasound waves or an injection of fluid can also break up the fat.
