This simple procedure can make ears less obvious and repair ears
that have been damaged during an accident or sporting injury such
as boxing or rugby.
THE PROCEDURE
Ear reshaping at MYA can be performed under local or general
anaesthetic depending on the extent of the surgery needed. An
incision is made behind the ear in the fold where the ear meets
your head. Cartilage and skin is usually removed or pinned back
with a few fine stitches.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
Any surgery is a big decision and MYA provide all of the details
you need to make an informed choice. However, this is a brilliant
way to revive confidence lost during school days. Your Surgeon can
help you be realistic about the look you want to achieve.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Ear reshaping surgery takes approximately 1 hour.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SURGERY?
The hospital stay and time away from work will vary depending on
the procedure. Your MYA Surgeon will be able to discuss this with
you in more detail. You will also need to wear a bandage around
your ears for about a week.
