Male rhinoplasty differs slightly from female rhinoplasty as
male noses are different in terms of structure and bone density.
Female rhinoplasty often involves making the nose look softer and
more feminine and with men it is mainly to refine the bridge and
nostrils. MYA have expert nose reshaping Surgeons who also perform
septo rhinoplasty which can straighten and unblock the nasal
septum, relieving breathing difficulties that could have been
caused by contact sporting injuries such as boxing martial arts and
rugby.
THE PROCEDURE
At MYA rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic. There
are a variety of procedures which depend on the look you want to
achieve. During surgery an incision is made inside or around the
nose to separate the soft tissues from underlying structures so
that they can be repositioned or reshaped. In some cases cartilage
can be taken from another part of the body to help build a new
profile.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Around 2 hours depending on the type of surgery.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
Any surgery is a big decision and MYA will provide all of the
details you need to make an informed choice. For instance, some
procedures may affect your breathing, which you will need to
consider. Realistic expectations are very important and your
surgeon will help set the right expectations.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SURGERY?
You'll need two weeks off work and avoid any activities that
could injure your nose for a few months.
