In the midst of one of the hottest days of the year, we are taking a look back at our Summer photoshoot that took place back in June (when it was the normal UK weather – overcast). We so wanted to be on the inflatable pink flamingo alongside our happy MYA patients because it was so much fun! Even if we were in the middle of Wetherby and not the south of France, it was an amazing day. Anyway we wanted to share a little insight into our MYA summer photoshoot and for you to meet the team that brings you the amazing images you see on our website, social media and clinic posters over the summer.
It is extremely important to us that all the girls featured in our photos have had a procedure with MYA. We do not use models or even patients with modelling experience. We love that having a procedure with MYA gives our girls the confidence to show off their results in a whole host of underwear, bikini’s and clothes. Confidence is the best look!
How do we pick the MYA patients to feature?
The marketing team often get contacted by PCs or nurses who have patients they think would be perfect for the shoots or have expressed an interest. We also keep a close eye on patients that love to get involved with #MYASelfie Tuesday or again express an interest when we advertise on social media for upcoming shoots. We even scout the MYA space forum for the super helpful and active forum members, if you love all things MYA you are in with a chance.
Where do all the clothes, bikinis and underwear come from?
We like to use the brands that our patients are into, like Missguided, ASOS, Pretty Little Thing, Topshop and even Primark. It is important that the images are aspirational but also achievable and the fact that our patients could go out and buy the same bikini we find kind of cool.
We even like to give away the odd outfit or accessory that features following our shoots so keep your eyes peeled to our social media pages for upcoming competitions.
This Summers theme was easy, inflatable fun. Inflatables are everywhere this summer swans, flamingos watermelons we had the lot and it was great fun. (Well apart from having to blow them up) What’s more fun than that summer holiday with your girls looking confident and feeling amazing?
The Glam Squad
Hairstylist - @jamesbegleyliverpool
James is an absolute laugh a minute with crazy talent, creating summer beach waves, wet looks and our favourite “space buns” which had the full BTS wanting by the end of the shoot.
MUA - @thebeautybom
Lo is a celebrity MUA to the likes of Vicky Pattison, Ferne McCann and many more. You can imagine the love we had for this homegrown Geordie now living in Essex and her talents exceeded expectations. With natural glowing skin and cool summer vibes, we were loving the looks she created on the day. We also can’t believe how well the makeup stayed on even after a few of the girls fell off the inflatables.
Photographer - @marie_harkness
This was the first time we have worked with Marie, coming highly recommended she did not disappoint! The whole team felt comfortable and inspired by her and her creativity. Along with her on the day assistant Laura @lmasseyphoto
who took some really creative and cool behind the scene shots it was a match made in cosmetic surgery heaven.
