It’s no surprise that many celebrities have had cosmetic surgery - it's a fact. But was cosmetic surgery the catalyst for their sky-rocketing careers? We've had a look at 4 of the biggest female celebs who probably wouldn't be where they are now without cosmetic surgery:
1. Marilyn Monroe
When we say the name Norma Jean you may respond with 'huh? who?' Well what about Marilyn Monroe? We all know the 1950’s Hollywood starlet that embodied the glitz and glamour of the silver screen. She entered the Hollywood scene young and attractive as well as talented, but it would be the name change, blonde bombshell makeover and cosmetic surgery that would enhance her appearance and make her an even brighter star. The late Marilyn was rumoured to have had a chin implant, which gave her that distinctive jawline. She also most likely had a rhinoplasty to make her nose more slender and feminine. Cosmetic surgery helped in making her one of the biggest Hollywood icons that we still revere today.

One of the youngest celebs to join the cosmetic surgery list was Kylie Jenner back in 2014 when her lips became the subject of everyone's conversation. This was back when she tried to pretend that her enhanced lips were created with lip liner and lip stick (brands she mentioned became sold out everywhere). Finally after pressure from the media, Kylie admitted to non-surgical lip fillers to give her the perfect pout. This was 'luckily' just in time as Jenner launched her first line of liquid lipsticks and matching lip liners the following November. The entire stock of product sold out immediately, and dozens began to resurface on eBay for more than 10 times their original price. Marketing genius!
A global sex symbol and famous for her enhanced assets, Pamela Anderson shot to fame after showcasing her large breasts in Playboy and the hit TV show Baywatch in the early 1990's. She stunned the world in 1999 by removing her breast implants and leaving everyone wondering how Anderson’s fame would be maintained without her implants, as it is what she was known for. Pamela later went under a re-augmentation in 2004, back to her old mega breast proportions. She strutted her stuff topless in Playboy, Stuff, and GQ magazines. In January 2005, she explained that the reason that she underwent a breast enlargement again was because she did not feel like herself without them. Anderson added that the new breast implants were bigger than her old ones. Pamela did a lot for normalising breast enlargements in the public eye so we salute you Pam!
The UK version of Pamela Anderson would be our very own Katie Price. Katie shot to fame as a glamour model under the stage name of Jordan and in 1998 the 20-year-old boosted her cup size from a B to a C cup. 1999, She underwent her second enlargement, this time going up to a 32D. In 2000, Katie went under the knife once more shortly after her split from Dane Bowers which increased her fame and general media presence. In 2007 while married to Peter Andre, the star travels to the US for a nose job and breast enlargement, going from a 32F to a 32G. In 2008, she returned from a trip to Beverly Hills with significantly smaller 32C breasts. In 2012 and following her split from Peter Andre and a brief marriage to Alex Reid, Katie went back up to a size 32F and reportedly spent £10,000 on a complete body overhaul. In 2014, Katie went back down to her natural size of a 32B and said she loved her new look. We can’t help but think this is not the end for Katie but we probably wouldn't advise changing your implant sizes as frequently as Katie.
What do you think? Do you think cosmetic surgery has helped boost the careers of these famous ladies?
