We all hope that having cosmetic surgery will make us look a little different and a lot better.
But you would not anticipate looking so different that your own mother would not recognise you? This is exactly the case in South Korea where certain hospitals are handing out plastic surgery
certificates to prove the patients identity many of which travel from china so passport control was providing difficult. Figures show that almost 20% of woman aged 19-49 in Seoul (Korea) admit to having cosmetic surgery. The most popular procedure being blepharoplasty
or eyelid surgery which involved reducing the excess skin in the upper eye lid so that their eyes appear bigger and more “western” - see our before and after photos here
It is believed that the increase in popularity to look more westernised is from the popularity in celebrity culture in South Korea with many patients bringing in pictures of pop stars and actors they wish to resemble.
