Gym and workout motivation doesn’t come from a workout buddy, PT or even those motivational quotes you see posted everywhere this time of year. Realistically, workout motivation comes from the excitement of wearing new gym clothes! It truly gets those exercise endorphins running (even if you do just put them on for a selfie and run out to the shops - you are still burning calories). Let’s be honest, we would live in our workout gear if it were socially acceptable. Well guess what? 2016 is that year!
Gone are the days of keeping your workout gear inside the walls of the gym; it’s now perfectly acceptable to sport your sportswear all-day long. The "Athleisure” trend is all about super-stylish yet oh-so comfy clothes suitable for rest or play. We’re talking branded leggings, oversized sweatshirts and exercise clothes that are just too chic to be set aside for fitness. The clothes may be high performance but the look is effortless with a hint of 90s cool. Although the styling does have a touch of retro, it isn’t quite Sporty Spice - think Kendall Jenner in a Calvin Klein sports bra instead. If you’re a strictly heels-wearing kind of girl, you may be put off by the idea of stepping out in active wear. But the key to nailing the trend is balance think Kim or Kourtney Kardashian famous for their style and glamourous look but co inside that with Kayne West Fashion line Yezzy and the amazing Yezzy and Adidas trainer collaboration and you have yourself your fashion/Athleisure compromise.
Trainers are the simplest way to tread into Athleisure. With so many styles to choose from, start with your budget and work from there. Would you rather drop £300 on a pair of trainers that Kim Kardashian owns, scared to go outside and get them dirty or 5 different pairs for every Athleisure outfit and occasion?
Bang on when it comes to the fashion trainer. They go perfect with jeans and a long trench coat and with endless colour variations you can find your individual style. We love these simple silver classics
Just make us think of unicorns so why wouldn’t we want them!

Even the ladies with unbelievable figures would be brave to rock a sports bra as outer where but it is possible. Think high wasted (flattering) leggings or joggers and a bomber jacket as well as your fashion forward sports bra. Kylie Jenner is a fashion muse when it comes to this look.
H&M have some amazing options for the perfect sports gear to look fashion forward whist meaning business if you do attend the odd gym class. We are fans of this mesh top teamed with a bright sports bra and at only £12.99 it’s a steal.
Whoever invented leggings we salute you! Could you get more of a comfortable figure flattering garment that is if you pick the right style for and colour for you. Always go dark if you are working out sweat patches will form in places you didn’t realise you sweated from. But for the Sunday coffee shop run the crazier the better.
Adidas Leggings in Baroque Ornament Print with 3 Stripes- You can’t be a wall flower to rock these leggings but teamed with a plain t-shirt and trainers you can’t go wrong. £26.00 (do not buy the matching jacket you are not sporty spice)
Think bomber beautiful rather than Bruce Jenner pre Caitlyn. There are so many cute bomber variations out there it is hard to pick. Neutral colours are always the safest option a nude for the spring season is a must.
These days, joggers and track pants are anything but scruffy. Opt for a pair in luxe knit for an off-duty look or go classic with a label you love. A basic tee and a clean, leather jacket will take the look from lounge to smart casual.
Now go get your Athleisure on, take a selfie and maybe consider hitting the gym. Even if you don't...at least you look fab!
