Sometimes following a strict diet and a carefully planned exercise regime just isn’t enough to get rid of those stubborn fatty areas we loathe. That is where the MYA liposuction procedures come in. At MYA we offer 3 different forms of liposuction: laser liposuction, Vaser liposuction and traditional liposuction.
Our highly trained specialists will be on hand to guide you through the process and recommend the best procedure for your needs. See the expert work of our surgeons on our before and after page. See the expert work of our surgeons on our before and after page.
Our Leeds Clinic
The MYA clinic in Leeds was our very first clinic that opened in 2007. It is in a prime location in the city centre, only a short walking distance from Leeds train station. You’ll find our team friendly and welcoming at all stages of your journey. Our Leeds consulting surgeons include Mr Kazzazi, our medical director, and Mr Mounir.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction involves the removal of fat from deposits beneath the skin. A hollow stainless steel tube called a cannula is used with the assistance of a powerful vacuum to reshape the area that is being treated. At our MYA Leeds clinic we consult for liposuction, often called fat removal, under local or general anaesthetic.
Liposuction enables you to have multiple areas treated at the same time. This means the time of the procedure can vary from 30 minutes – 2 hours depending on how many areas you are having treated.
It is important to note that liposuction is not designed as a weight loss treatment or to tackle obesity. People who fall into this category should seek advice from their GP.
Your Liposuction Consultation at MYA Leeds
Before your consultation we will assess your body mass index (BMI) to help the surgeon determine your suitability for the procedure. This is due to there being physiological limitations as to the quantity of fat that can be removed at one time. During your consultation your surgeon will discuss the limitations surrounding the procedure. Having realistic expectations at this stage is the most important aspect when you’re considering liposuction.
After Your Procedure
We recommend taking between 7 – 10 days off work following the surgery. The area that has been treated must be kept clean and dry during this time as you will have small incision sights with dissolvable sutures. It is also compulsory to wear your supplied garment for 6 weeks to help reduce swelling and assist with the final result.
