Overview

Rhinoplasty, more commonly known as a ‘nose job’ or nose reshaping offers patients the chance to change the overall appearance of their nose. It can be a life-changing and confidence-boosting procedure.

The procedure is highly detailed and involves refining the bridge, tip or overall profile of the nose. Rhinoplasty is very popular, often chosen due to the self-consciousness felt by patients who view their inherited or injured nose as out of proportion or as having unsightly bumps.

MYA Clinic in Liverpool

Our Liverpool clinic offers a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Our dedicated, resident team of coordinators and surgeons are highly experienced in a wide range of treatments and will make sure you have all the information you need about your rhinoplasty.

Understanding Rhinoplasty

There are two common types of rhinoplasty procedure. They are:

Closed Rhino – this procedure doesn’t disturb any of the skin on the nose. The reshaping is done using surgical incisions made inside the nose.

Open Rhino – this surgery involves reshaping the nose using an incision in between the nostrils on the columella – the small column of skin that separates the nostrils

In most cases a rhinoplasty procedure will take around 2 hours to complete and will be carried out under general anaesthetic. Once the surgery is complete you will have a splint fitted across your nose and your nostrils will be packed, though this packing will be removed just before you are discharged. See our before and after photos here.

You will need around 7-10 days off work after the procedure to allow ample recovery time. Our Liverpool clinic nurse will usually remove the splint at around day 10, although timescales always vary between patients – your surgeon will be on hand to advise on the exact day depending on your situation.
