How many CCs are in a bra cup size?

Breast implants in the UK are measured in cubic centimetres or CCs, not in the traditional bra cup sizes that we are used to. So, how do you know what breast implant size to pick?

What bra size will I be after a boob job?

It’s difficult to predict what bra or cup size you’ll be after your breast surgery, but our surgeons will do their best to make an estimation. It's important to remember that it’s not possible to make a guarantee on cup size.

During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss breast implant sizes with you and a specific size or size range will be recommended to achieve your desired result. The exact size within this range will be determined by your surgeon during the operation, depending on your chest frame and physical measurements.

When can I get measured following my breast surgery?

Following breast procedures such as breast enlargement, breast uplift and breast reduction, patients are often eager to go shopping for pretty new bras. Another thing to look forward to once you are fully healed is getting your new bra size measurement!

Navigating the world of bra sizes is difficult at the best of times so following breast surgery your breasts will have changed, and you will need to be remeasured to find your new post-op bra size. It is important to remember that bra sizes can vary from store to store, so don’t be disheartened if you measure smaller than you were expecting. Focus on what feels supportive and comfortable rather than the size you measure.

Breast surgery patients should continue to wear their post-surgery bra day and night for 6-8 weeks. Everyone heals at different rates, therefore patients shouldn’t rush into getting measured for new bras, as the breasts can continue to drop and fluff and change for up to 8 weeks or longer. Patients should consult with their MYA nurse or surgeon before going to get measured.

It is very important that you continue to wear a supportive sports bra when exercising, this includes light exercise such as walking and yoga and high impact sports. MYA recommend that patients ease themselves back in, with low impact exercise, with no rigorous movements or strain to the affected area.
