Patient Story

  • Why did you want the procedure?

I had always known my boobs didn’t look as full and perky as others ( didn’t know the name for them was tubular) . But when I lost about 2 stone in weight, my boobs were left even more shapeless and empty and I thought after the hard work to get down to a size 6/8 why then stay unhappy with my boobs when I could do something about it!

  • Why did you choose MYA?

When I decided to look into breast augmentation MYA was the first company that came to mind, and then when talking to people I knew had also had BA’s MYA was the name that kept coming up both for results and after care.

  • How was your consultation?

During the consultation I found out in much more detail a few things I had read up on or that people who already had BAs had spoken to me about such as overs / unders, profiles. It was very informative in a very informal way which I liked as when talking to Lauren I didn’t feel under pressure or confused it felt more like a friend who was an expert on boobs!!

I told her I had heard great things about Mr Traynor as a surgeon and immediately she made an appointment for me to meet him and when I did I knew he was for me. Straight to the point, knew exactly what I wanted and was firm with the implant size he would do.

  • How was the day of your procedure?

I had the best experience possible on the day, my admission time was 8am, I was there early and at 7.50 I was taken straight to my room where I settled in, put the gown, paper knickers and socks on and the lovely nurse went through some questions whilst also just chatting to me and my mum

Then a doctor came in and the anesthesis who asked me near enough the same questions and had a lil chat

Then I saw Mr Traynor, when he walked in I said hi are you ok and he said ‘why are you asking me?! I’m fine I’m not the one putting myself through unnecessarily surgery’ hahaha he was so nice and put me at ease.

Then another nurse came in who said she would be taking me down as I was first, I gave my mum a kiss and hug and went down ( can’t believe I didn’t cry!) they all kept commenting on how much I was smiling ha!

I lay down on the bed in theatre and they put the cannula in as they kept me talking, I then felt the anesthetic go in which wasn’t unpleasant, I felt it and tasted it at the back of my throat and I remember telling them and asking if it was ok, they reassured me it was and they were looking after me and that’s the last thing I remember!

Next thing I was back in my room at 10.30am with the nurse waking me up (can’t remember which one) I kept asking where my mum was!!

Then after something to eat I was ready to go home 🙂

  • How was your recovery?

I’m only a couple of days into recovery but its way easier then I thought.

I just feel slightly tight and itchy where the incisions are but its fine and I’m getting used to sleeping upright

I’m very bloated but just keep reassuring myself its temporary!!

  • Are you happy with your results?

I feel amazing, I can assure anyone having doubts that this is the best decision I’ve ever made, I can’t wait to see how they develop over the coming weeks. Can’t believe the volume and roundness that I actually have and, from being tubular before, actually having boob under my nipple is a massive thing for me and I wanna give Traynor the biggest hug and kiss 🙂
