    Advice please….
Had my post week check up yesterday all cleaned and re dressed and was told that all was healing well and how it should be and to go back in a week to be checked and changed again…. every since yesterday they absolutely sting like hell on my incisions??? Mostly when I’m trying to sit up and get up, it didn’t feel like this before I got my check up? Partner keeps checking my dressings every 2mins for bleeding! But apart from that I’m doing ok and just getting on with it because the achey feeling is what I prepared myself in fact I prepared my self for worse x

The cleaning and changing of the dressing probably just irritated them a bit. Also as they start to heal they will probably start to sting more. Mine had moments a week or so after surgery where they really started to sting!! Just keep an eye out for any oozing through the dressings, and if you do feel like the stingings not right give your nurse a call just to be on the safe side xx

Oh my Hollie. I had the exact same problem.. mine even started while i was in the room with the nurse still, i kept asking my partner if i was bleeding or it the plaster had got stuck as almost felt like the plaster was ripping off. Was horrible. But my partner reassured me that everyrhing was fine and its stopped now. Xxxx

Mine are the same, had my check up yesterday and stinging today. Keep checking for blood but no signs at all, just me being worried. Glad it’s not just me!x

My original dressedinga after my op.. under my big main plaster, ‘y incisions where held tight closed with thin sterry strips that stung when the nurse took them off and I didn’t have more put on, just another big plaster!
It’s when the thin sterry strips are took off, the incisions just naturally hold them self together and the skin is pulling and stretching coz they’re a nothing pulling it together anymore that causes the awful achey sting!

You will notice the sting will fade into more of a dull ache where it’s just scar tissue aching rather than incisions stinging :)….. if all that makes any sense at all hahaha xxx
