    Hey girls,

I’m only 2 days post op at the min and so far all I’ve had is pain everywhere including arms and ribs, suchhh a tight chest where I’m struggling to breathe and scared to sit back for so long as I can’t get up. I’m literally clock watching so I can take more painkillers but they’re doing nothing at the min and I can’t sleep at all. Just so scared it’s gonna get worse 🙁 I’ve read loads of good experiences girls have had on here and just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on how to handle it so far please?? It’s 3:35 in the morning at the min and I just can’t sleep or breathe properly 🙁

    Thank you!

    Emma xx

    Hey girl.
    Sorry to hear this.

Have you gone over or under your muscle? I’m on day post op and I just feel uncomfortably.

I know it’s the weekend, but come Monday morning certainly try to call your GP for some advice. I think this sounds about right if you have gone under any muscle hun!!!

Sorry I ain’t much help. But hope you feel better soon xxx

Hi Emma, you need to remember it’s quite invasive surgery.
Everyone will feel pain differently but it’s also worth getting a bit of advice from a nurse if you are worried.
I was in a lot of pain for a couple of days after my op and I had overs! I also had drains though.
It does get better I promise x

The hardest thing I’m finding is pain in my back due to sleeping at 45 degree angle. Keep cold packs on your breasts it really helps.

Are you wearing adhesive strapping because I found that felt so much worse was so limiting and was heaven when they took that off! Personally speaking day 3 was the worse on pain for me and then it just eased up day by day and was manageable. Hope it doesn’t last too much longer for you the ice packs as said above is a really good idea!

Thanks for your quick replies girls! Yeah Deokie I went under the muscle cause I had hardly any tissue to start with so I was expecting pain and discomfort but this is just on another level 🙁 they’ve gave me a 24/7 emergency number I could call if I am in agony but I feel stupid ringing cause I’m sure this is all normal! Just glad everything sounds normal and I can’t wait for everything to ease off and get better!

    Thanks again girls xxx

I’ve just got a post op bra on at the min Jenna and then one of those breast bands which I’m HATING at the min 🙁 cause I’ve got to have it on so tight I took it off for about 10 mins last night and it felt soooo much better like I could breathe again! I’m not able to get out of bed and when I can’t get up I start panicking and my chests absolutely kills along with my boobs so think I need to chill out and think this is all normal! I’m also gonna try some ice thank you! X

Oh I didn’t use the breast band my surgeon went with the adhesive strapping for 5 days then carried on with the Macom bras, ice was my best friend for the first few days, peas, carrots, ice packs, anything cold felt great! Hope it helps you, just think it’s normal hun you’ll get through it and it’ll be worth it! Xx

I was the exact same as you, was in tears everynight and wondering why i put myself through the pain, but trust me it rapidly gets better, on day 5 for me I suddenly was able to move my arms more and ease off the pain killers, get myself out of bed etc so just try stay positive and it will improve and eventually wil be all worth it!xx

Thanks Jenna, think I just need to keep positive and think of the end result, definitely gonna try ice if it’s still really bad tomorrow! And Heidi that makes me feel sooo much better! That’s exactly how I feel now, at the min I literally don’t even care about what they look like or why I’ve done it cause all I’m thinking about is the amount of pain I’m in! I feel like my chest has gone slightly better cause I felt like I couldn’t breathe at all and couldn’t sleep cause of it so hopefully everything eases the next few days fingers crossed! 🙁 xx
